My husband and I (both 58 years) did the 3 day, 2 night trek. Being immersed in this dramatic and varied landscape for 3 days was wonderful and an experience never to be forgotten. So glad we did it! It is a very hard climb though, especially day 2 of the 3 day trek. We have done a lot of hiking and found this day gruelling so if you are thinking of doing the 3D2N trek be prepared for a challenge mentally and physically. The rewards are worth it. Good hiking shoes, warm weather gear for summit essential. Rudy Trekker and his team really looked after us from beginning to end. Heri, our guide had a lovely gentle manner, was very attentive and we felt safe with him. How those porters nimbly carry those huge loads day after day in a pair of flip flops is incredible!! So much respect for them. Our food was fresh and tasty with large helpings. I’m gluten free so special meals had to be made for me. Thank you to the chefs. It was heaven having our camp site all set up so we could flop into bed . The mattresses were quite comfortable and sleeping bags warm. We would really recommend going Rudy Trekker as we were just so well looked after and were able to just focus on the hike. It really was a very wonderful, worthwhile and memorable experience!

2D 1N - an easy 5 star. I booked last minute seeking somewhere nice to stay that also facilitated the trek. Rudy and Antok were helpful from the very start and their brilliant driver Bayu kindly picked my up from Bangsal Pier (great guy!) The lodge itself was perfect for my needs and the amenities were spot on.

The trek itself was one of the hardest but most amazing things I’ve ever done and I couldn’t recommend doing it with Rudy Trekker more. There were no other guests staying so I had my own private guide and porter. My guide Dhika was the best guide I’ve ever had, and a really likeable guy (also clearly one of the most popular guys on the volcano!) He kept me going and really made my time there. My porter Andy was fantastic and everyone who saw the meals he prepared me was jealous of the food I was given - best chef on the circuit, I ate like a king!

I’ve seen some reviews that complain about price. You cannot put a price on this experience!! Thank you so much Rudy and team

So glad I went with Rudy Trekker for my hike. I had a great time hiking up to Mount Rinjani's crater rim with one of Rudy Trekker's guide, Agus who keeps making sure we're okay, cracked jokes with me and doesn't mind my taking numerous breaks for photos etc. :D
From airport pick up, overnight stay at the guest house, food prepared during the hike by the wonderful porters, tent set up, cleaning up afterwards at camp site, post hike shower and transportation to the Gilis, it was seamless and perfect for me.
Thank you Agus, Antok and Rudy for making this trip a memorable one. See you again!

I’ve done Rinjani twice with Rudi Trekker, once 3 day 2 night from Senaru, the other time 2/1 from Sembulum side. Both times were perfect. They lent me shoes and jumpers (but bring your own if possible), torches, etc., and the food and camping was great. I saw trekkers with other companies with no flashlights, bad footwear, no food, missing guides and porters, etc. that Rudi’s company just wouldn’t let happen. Rudi’s guides and porters did very thing to make sure you enjoyed your climb and we’re as comfortable as possible.
And they actively reduce waste on the mountain, (the one disappointing part of the trip) which I hear has improved the situation for everyone since I was there 3 years ago.
Thinking of a 3rd climb for my 58th b’day.
BTW, it’s hard a hard trek but soo worth it!!
Cheers, Rob.

All equipment, safety, food and fun was provided by a very professional team.We will never forget this experience and totally recommend this company.Wear appropriate shoes, prepare your fitness,do not take excessive belongings. It is something you will remember all your life .Thank you sincerely to the whole team .Especially Bruno and Davet who told me I could do it,but it was only possible with their kind help and patience. You won't regret taking Rudy Trekker experience.

this trek with rudy trekker was just amaaaaazing! starting with the communication before the trip, the pick up from the pier to the stunning rudy’s guesthouse, the welcoming from antok, rudy himself, the lovely ladies from the reception, the introduction and the really nice room the night before the start. our guide singha, the three porters hamad, strong leg and mr handsome are the nicest guys ever. and i can’t point it out enough, but these guys have one of the hardest jobs in the world. spending more nights in tents than in their own beds, the enormous physical efforts, porters carrying more than 30 kg on their shoulders only in flip-flops or even barefoot, their cooking skills, there’s no difference to a michelin restaurant, they even prepared always only healthy stuff just for me. their cutted fruit plates are simply amazing. every ingredient fresh and delicious! the tent was like a hotel room and the prepared chairs wherever we made breaks were really first class. singha led us to the summit with the perfect pace and was always funny, entertaining and motivating. i know that sounds like a loveletter, but as this was the most challenging experience in my life, i appreciate their enormous efforts to help me get through it and achieve the top of the vulcano soooo much! thank you guys, i’ll never forget these two days, because everytime life sucks i’ll think „you survived mount rinjani, you’ll sail through that ridiculous s***!“ 😁

We booked the 2D1N summit trip. Rudy was very responsive and accommodating in the chat prior to the trip. He even made special arrangements because I forgot to send my passport details on time. Also had the chance to chitchat with him and he is a very funny guy, especially recalling his younger days. First night accommodation at Rudy’s guest house was very peaceful and relaxing. Too bad our fight arrived late so we didn’t really had the chance to use the pool. The day of the trek, we met our guide, Dika, who was very courteous and was giving high energy vibes to prep us for the trek. As we moved along the journey, Dika really took good care of us in the mountains. I can say that he is very experienced and knowledgable of his job. He knows which path is better to take rather than the seemingly viable option. He is very passionate in what he does and treats the mountain as if it was his second home. He was very patient with us during the trip. Kudos to Rudy’s team. Definitely worth experiencing. I hope we can meet again to share stories of your younger years. Makasih 🙏🏻

First of all: this trip is not for the faint hearted!! Even as a physically fit
Person who loves trekking, this ended me! My legs and body have lost ALL respect for me!
We did the 3D2N trek and we were amongst the few that actually completed it! Most decided to call it quits after completing the summit! Day 2 is a killer!! 02:00 am start to start a 14hour day of walking!! So be prepared for that! On the summit you are battling against 50mph winds on a 60degree gradient. Bitterly cold, exhausting and even most of the guides didn’t summit!
View was incredible however!! After the summit we descended and after several tiring and long hours we hit the hot spring!! NEEDED!!
Have never needed ti be in hot water so badly in my life!! That ended our second day. The final day was a killer only because our legs were screaming but it was a lot more low key, less hours and a little more fun!

The food provided was genuinely incredible and some of the best I have eaten. (Albeit there was far far too much of it!) The porters and our guide were so friendly, helpful and definitely helped us through it! The camp set up was great, comfortable and slept very well!

On returning to civilisation and back tj the hotel we had out well earned hot shower, water, towels and relaxed before being taken to the harbour and sent on our merry and tired way! Couldn’t praise Rudy and his team
Any more!! Truly very helpful, friendly and helped us through it all!

To climb solo with a team and stay over night you need to be confident that the team will not only provide what is in the brochure, tents food etc. etc. but that they will "look after" you.

We hiked to the crater rim on the first day and stayed over night. The food was good, not ridiculously complicated or luxurious, and the highlight was sitting around the firelight whilst the stars came out.

I was on a three-day schedule but had chosen to do the final two days in one. We hiked down into the crater and although it was only 3 K it took 2 hours, there is no track, there is a way down and some steps in places but it is not quick. In retrospect I should have opted to compete the drop into the crater and return in one day rather than half.

By 2 30 pm we were ready to return down the 6,600 feet to the village having traversed 4,000 feet down to the crater bottom and back to the base.

At some point on the return I tore my MSL and Mohammed administered heat spray and we finally arrived back at the end point at 10 pm. What really impressed me is my two lovely bearers stayed with Mohammed and I until the end in case I struggled to get off the trail. That was most impressive.

It was a wonderful experience and the weather was good to us but it is hard work and if Rudy says it’s going to take three days its best to listen to him.

I was conscious that because of a change to my routine I was not match fit for climbing in the way I had been in 2019

Next year we will do something different and take more time but my thanks to all for looking after me.

We went for the 3D2N including summit.

We had a great experience especially with our Guide Deno (Den) and porters (rocket, he is fast)
Everything was well organized and explained. The guide Deno guides you through all days, always open for a chat, tells history stories, is friendly and experienced!

Rudy trekker’s team makes sure you have enough good meals, water and a good night of sleep.

The views, sunsets and sunrises are beautiful.

It’s a challenge for your body but if you are physically fit its definitly doable.

What could be improved is Rudy trekker’s accommodation, this requires a renovation.
