Senaru village is the original core of Senatu - now set up as a conservation area. A limited number of extended families live here with about 200 people. The buildings are traditional but they have modern amenities like satellite tv and motor bikes.

many home-stays, guesthouses and resorts in Senaru Village. Here is where most will use as a base camp or end camp when doing the Mount Rinjani Trekking Tour. Locals here mostly depend on the tourist business today acting as guides and porters etc. Still many traditional homes as well and in Senaru you can get good view of the paddy fields below in the valley as well Mount Rinjani. Small little restaurants here in resorts and i specially like the Rinjani Lodge restaurant with an awesome view and pretty good food.

The traditional Senaru village is a small village and is a preserved area where limited families live. Modern facilities have started reaching the village however one can still see traditional houses.

Full of rubbish and there was a rotting dead monkey in the waterfall. The one that feeds into the water source for the whole village
