My husband and I decided that Tuscawilla Country Club would be perfect for our wedding. Not only was it convenient to our home, but also a beautiful setting. INITIALLY we were working with Amber- and she was awesome. Very attentive to detail, connected with us often and would always say hi to us and greet us by name if she saw us up at the country club. (since we are members) BOY did all of this change when she decided to leave. I don't even know where too begin. Here is the 'recap' for our awful experience the day of our wedding: 1. Our guests were served cold food. Not just cold, but frozen. Best part, when I had a meeting to discuss all of this, the GM told me that our DAY OF wedding coordinator had confronted him about this topic and apparently she told him 'it was ok' to serve this frozen food. (REALLY!?!?) Why would this be ok? Why would you even ask this question? Makes absolutely ZERO sense to me. 2. We had kids in the wedding and at the reception- they were supposed to have plated meals. (We chose a 50/50 split of cheeseburgers and chicken tenders) Well, day of, they decided to put all of the kids meals in the buffet...which would have been fine if they didn't make a big deal when guests at our reception thought it was for them as well. Again, we were told plated meals...didn't happen and then they yelled at guests for taking food in the room they had for all of the food. 3. We had 'late night snacks' served about two hours after our main meal- close to $500/ $600 worth of food. We were told there would be an announcement of these snacks. They 'claim' they told our DJ. I didn't even step foot in the room with the food or snacks. I was on the dance floor, mingling with guests, or upstairs with the kiddos. I heard any and all announcements/ songs. There was no announcement. - they just left the doors open like everyone should know that there was food available. 4. It was HOT. I mean SUPER hot. Yes, I understand when people are dancing and walking around it gets hot. BUT when we asked about this in the meeting before the wedding, we were told it would be PLENTY cold and that there would be no need to have the patio doors open. INSTEAD most of our guests ended up in the outside area because they were drenched in sweat. 5. I don't think I saw one member of management at the event. Not one. We were told they would be there at the end of the night to 'some what' help with the exit. (we did sparklers) NOT A SOUL. All of this to say- I did confront them about these issues. We had a meeting on the 30th of March- our wedding was February 27th. When I met with the GM, he informed me of what you read above....these were his 'excuses.' AND THEN proceeded to tell me that the staff gives him a 'brutally honest' report card at the end of every event. And because "I LOOKED HAPPY THE ENTIRE TIME" he said nothing appeared to be wrong. I looked at him dead in the eyes and said 'oh, was I supposed to be sobbing on my wedding day?!' give me a break. Also, he mentioned ' just so you know your wedding coordinator has something against the country club and is highly critical of us.' Ummmm, yes sir, she is a member at the country club as well....and if anyone should be critical, it should be her. But most of the 'issues' were blamed on my coordinator, since according to her she has some kind of vendetta against the country club. (I'm SURE that's why she is a member there....) I asked for AT LEAST our service charge back- which was 21% of all the charges. COMICALLY they offered to give us $300 back....credited to our membership. (meanwhile it was at least $5000 for service charges) This is just to warn any future brides- I do NOT at ALL recommend getting married here. Save your money- pick a different place.

I am a member at Tuscawilla, so I am a bit biased. The couse is usually in great shape, and it offers a challenge for the low handicappers as well as fun for all handicappers.

My son took tennis lessons and did camp. The instructors were nice, and my son had a blast . We live in walking distance so it was convenient, but are not members. You do not have to be a member for your kids to attend. You do need to drive over and walk in to the pro shop or pool area because no one on the property has ever answered a phone in the 2 years we have been there nor do they return calls. Then you have to hope they will be there to help you. That's hit or miss. As long as you can deal with that utter annoyance if you want to register or ask a question, your kids will have a great time.

So glad that the Oaks is now open. It had been closed a very long time for refurbishment. The Open House was scheduled to take place last evening but was postponed due to weather conditions.

We had reservations for 7:30 pm. Our server, Jonathon, was very competent, friendly and helpful. The food and service was very good. I had the shrimp and grits....my husband ordered a chicken entree. We had wine, coffee and dessert.

What was not so great was the white/stark glaring lighting, the noise and the atmosphere. The place is new so the bugs will be worked out and there, most likely, will be more attention to detail.

The outdoor area looks like THE place to dine....as the indoor seating no longer looks over the beautiful golf course. Soft lighting and music may also help the indoor area. Not certain how to address the noise level....The place was just not welcoming....and felt cold.

Hopefully, these suggestions may be of some help. Would be interested to know what other patrons thought. Glad to see this place back for business and I hope it succeeds.

I am (soon to be "was") a member at Tuscawilla Country Club. Tuscawilla's golf course has a decent layout but its conditions are not up to par and the cost you pay to play makes it a horrible value.

I have played it many times and am just not willing to risk the sporadic nature of its conditions. Many times there are burned out or spots without grass, poor weed control, poorly kept bunkers with very bad drainage, and greens are just not that great.

There are SO many courses around that would offer a MUCH better value.

The entrance to the club house could use new carpeting and paint. The swimming pool doesn't have but one table with an umbrella for shade.

Course ok but condition going downhill and restaurant is bad

Ending my 4 year membership here. The slide downhill in course conditions has been gradual but they have decimated the restaurant. Used to be a nice grill with quality food an a great sunday brunch buffet. Buffet is discontinued, menu reduced and wait staff cut by more than half so the wait to get food makes a stop here unacceptable

This is a private golf course and restaurant. Instead of the usual country club where members have a voice in their golf course, tennis and swim programs, and restaurant, this facility is privately held. Members are not invited to participate in the decisions.

You are not made aware of when the restaurant may be closed: even when the monthly bulletin states it will be open.

Played here as a guest and I had a very nice day. The food was decent but service was slow in the grill. The course and greens are in good shape but except for a few holes, its a very boring layout. The place has the feel of a middle class club (not snobby like the high end clubs) and I was comfortable since I'm middle class. The course is nothing special.

Dined a few days ago with a friend who is a member. I was not that happy with the meal. Roasted Chicken was not cooked enough...white meat was tough. Baked potato chips were over done. I will say that the brussel sprouts were delicious!! Service was good. My friends had the strawberry salad and seemed to be happy with their selection. This was the second time I had been back in a year. Neither time was I impressed.
