Wonderful experience and great way to spend a Sunday morning on vacation. The staff was not only friendly and efficient, they provided suggestions on where to stop and how far along everything was. We are a family of 5 - with a 10 year old and 12 year old twins and they had a blast. The trail was active but safe, and beautiful. The bikes were in very good condition. We will be back!

My wife and I hired two comfort bikes for a couple of hours to ride the trail to Winter Gardens and had a wonderful time.
We arrived at a busy time but the guy running the shop was professional and efficient and we were soon on our way with a trail map and advice.
The trail is very flat, slightly downhill to WG, where a great selection of eateries and things to do are found.
Very enjoyable for people who don't do theme parks.

We have a time share with Disney and we're always looking for alternate things to do besides the theme parks. We always rent a car or have our own so distance isn't necessarily an issue. This was a superb find for a fun, covid-safe family activity and one that we definitely will do again!
The staff was very helpful, the bikes and helmets were wiped disinfected between uses, and distance was maintained while checking in and out. We didn't reserve bikes but instead took our chances once we got there. Happily, they had bikes for us but I don't think took many more were left. Next time, I'd probably call to reserve ahead of time.
The bikes were well-maintained and were multi-gear (sorry I couldn't remember how many gears but we definitely had enough for the ride). You have a minimum of one hour rental and then are charged with how much you have them out after that.
The West Orange Trail itself is very long and the bike shop sits at mile marker zero and then you set off from there. The trail is relatively flat with some small hills, but nothing that the gears on the bike can't help you up with. It is a multi-use trail and we saw more bikers than any other users (walkers, runners, skateboarders). You go through the back of some residential areas so there will be cross streets and most have 4 way stops and we found that the car drivers were very accommodating to the bikers. We went about 7 miles out to the Crown Point station area before we turned around (there is water, a butterfly garden and restrooms and a park). The only squirrelly area was Winter Garden -- there are A LOT of pedestrians there and the path is narrow and right through the town. Frankly, it wasn't obvious to us where the path went (sidewalk or through the middle) so we had to ask for directions of some other bikers. If you're not comfortable on crowded paths loaded with groups of pedestrians, baby strollers, small kids, etc, then turn around here and don't even try to get through. Overall, a great experience and an activity that we will do again.

We road this trail on our road bikes twice. The first time was from Winter Garden going south west. A few hills and you must be careful traveling across the communities for cars entering or leaving. The 2nd day we road from Winter Garden (Chapin Station) to Apopka. A really nice ride, lots of shade, less people on the trail, and fewer crossings and communities. Looking forward to going back.

Great bike rental shop with excellent customer service. The person working at the shop that day told us the best way to go on the trail. There were 12 riders in my family, including adults, teens, and kids. We were able to have the kids fitted for bikes and helmets and the adults fitted for bikes within minutes.

Great place to rent bikes for us and our kids. Safe and easy trail that includes being able to stop for a short hike and get lunch. The people at the shop were very friendly and helpful.

Had a great experience today at Bikes and Blades. They opened up at 9 am, I walked up, rented a comfortable bike and helmet for $8 per hour, and was on the trail in minutes! The trail was not crowded today, nice and level, fun! Highly recommended!! Thanks Gary!

The location offers ample parking, on my visit there were lots of people here. I had no bike reservation and only waited a few minutes. I was helped on this visit and my other visits quickly by friendly, helpful people. It was an easy and quick experience , and so much fun to start the trail from here. Thank you so much for a great time!

Do you offer a shuttle service to points on the trail that would allow a person to then cycle back to your store?
JulieChamberlain
Orlando, Florida, United States2 contributions
Hello. Yes, we can provide that service. $50 for 1-4 people from the bike shop to a point on the West Orange Trail. Contact me at 407 247-2419 with specifics. Thanks! Julie
Hi, I was wondering if it's an additional $7.00 for the add on trailer for kids to sit in attached to the bike?
JulieChamberlain
Orlando, Florida, United States2 contributions
Hi, Yes, that would be considered an additional bike so if you rent a bike and a trailer, it would be $14 per hour. If you have further questions, let me know.
