Stop by for the honor box, must have cash. We also bought some at the Piggly Wiggly in Apalachicola. Once you have had tupelo honey, no other honey will do. Lanier Tupelo Honey is also in Wewa. Only places we can find Tupelo Honey. More...More
Once you’ve tasted Smiley’s Honey you’ll be back for more. My personal favorite is their Apalachicola river valley Tupelo. Nothing compares to the earthy floral flavor. The folks are nice and helpful, the honey sweet, and well worth a stop and shop! They also mail...More

Thanks for stopping by. We often see the same snowbirds every year as they stock up on honey before returning to northern states.
Stopped by Smiley's for some local honey after a Dead Lakes boat tour. Although the boat guide said that we would learn lots about honey, the new staff really did not go beyond having us sample the honey and sell us some. Would have rather...More

I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations. There is really nothing to tour at our bottling facility. The honey bottling operation takes place in one room, which you saw as you tasted the honey. Our free tasting along with some information about the origin...More
What I appreciated about this vendor is that she put a selection of her wares outside her door with an honor box, so that even though I came after 3 o'clock, when she normally closes, I was able to buy the tupelo honey I needed,...More
As a beekeeper, I am interested in honey from other places. The Tupelo honey is so fascinating (how the beekeepers place the hives in the swamps, etc). At Smiley, they not only have the Tupelo honey, but honey from different states and different countries. The...More

I'm glad you found us, as we are off the beaten path. And yes, Shirley is very nice.
Tupelo honey from Wewahitchka, FL. is hands down, the best honey on the planet. It's the only honey that I know of that's relatively safe for diabetics. I'm sure that point can be debated, but I'm sticking to it.
Smileys takes the honey, harvested from...More

Thanks for stopping by, and for the great review. We really do enjoy talking with visitors who make the trip to our place in Wewa.
Went to this honey distributor. Got a tasting of several different kinds of honey. Asked her about the bee situation and person told me that lack of bees weren't the problem it was a mold. I bought several bottles from this distributor.More

Thanks for the feedback, but the statement about mold is perplexing. The general consensus is that bee colony losses are due to a combination of several factors, including widespread pesticide use in America, habitat loss due to factory farming and mono cropping, certain parasites (especially...More
Smiley Honey is basically a distributor of honey - no working hives on site. That being said, they have a wide variety of honeys from around the world including the local specialty, Tupelo Honey. The lady there is very knowledgeable and you can taste all...More
We stopped in to buy some honey while staying in nearby Apalachicola. We were able to sample the honey we were interested in and are very happy with all that we bought. The price was very reasonable and the lady who was there was friendly...More
We did the honey tasting, yum. I particularly like the set of four favors for $14. We found the place with the help of GPS and enjoyed our visit. Also picked up the bees wax hand lotion, it may just last the rest of my...More
