Wish the map were accurate!
Oct 2021 • Couples
Very nice hike initially, with beautiful palms and Spanish moss and a clear map showing an oval walk with a boardwalk bisecting it. Took the boardwalk, then turned left to follow the path back around to the beginning. However, it never got there, nor were there signs other than two that said not to enter the areas. So my poor dog and I ended up way away from the beginning and having to walk along busy Indian River drive in the heat for about 15 minutes to get back to the entrance. So the start was lovely, but just retrace your steps and don’t believe there is a circuit trail!

Nice Flat Hike with A Lot of Vegetation and Bugs
Aug 2021
This is a nice flat hike out to the water with a great small observation deck (The Main Trail). The path is very overgrown, but still discernable. There was a lot of muddy area to avoid. From the imprints in the mud you can tell the mountain bikers love the trail. Additionally, you could find a bunch of animal prints if you like to identify what they could be. The sections of boardwalk were littered with dead vegetation and proposcules from the mangroves. Still not impassable, just not pristine depending upon your thoughts on what you like in a hike. We met some hikers that told us that there are alligators in the area, as well as, some manatees from time to time. Geckos galore, but we have found that everywhere in the area. When you come off the street it is a quick left into the parking area, which has a number of spots, but not a lot. We enjoyed our experience. We did not hike the loop trail, which we were told is also nice. Enjoy!

We had a nice afternoon walking around the lagoon trails. Quiet And peaceful. A bunch of crabs along the trails. Views of the water along the trail too. Wear sunscreen and bring bug spray.

See local estuaries and get a great walk
Feb 2020
We walked this trail in full and loved the boardwalks through mangroves, easy flat paths, and quiet place to enjoy nature. NE corner of 8th street and Indian River Blvd. (at the blinking traffic light) is the starting point and parking.

Great trail can get in shape

The trail was always well-maintained same way with the boardwalk leaving to the lagoon. Well mile markers give you an idea of how far of you walked

DON'T PET THE ALLIGATOR
Jan 2019 • Couples
The area provides space for great hikes and biking. Drawback is that the featured fauna is mangrove and more mangrove. The pier at the end of the trail is a great place to sit and nature out. I like it for lunch and the interesting people generally there.

Kinda boring

Good place to exercise but don't come for the views, there aren't many. Kudos for saving some of the last open spaces on the river though.

Nice Bike Path Not Very Long
Feb 2018
My husband I got new fat tire bikes and found there was a bike trail down on the Indian River, we went out there and rode around but it's not a very long ride, the scenery is nice, I'd think there could be alligators, though I didn't see any

Quiet and peaceful
Mar 2018 • Solo
I grew up in Vero, left 20 years ago, and come back often to visit family. I never knew of this place until I saw it in Tripadvisor. Very nice place to walk; very peaceful. Several trails from a half mile to about three miles. I walked it early in the morning and it was very quiet and peaceful.

Parking can be the only issue; I only saw about 5 spots plus 2 handicapped but I may have missed a few.

It’s just another great park that the city and county have.
