I hate to be vocal about law enforcement making bad calls, my family works in law enforcement. We were in Vero Beach Florida, as many of you know I’m handicapped now, I’m unable to walk for long distances and I have to use a cane or a wheelchair for the rest of my life. We were parked in a handicapped space , I had my placard displayed on the mirror as is required by law, with the numbers facing out. The spot had a three hour limit, so we set a timer, so we would not exceed the time limit. We returned to our vehicle to find a ticket stating no placard was displayed, clearly it was, I never remove it since it’s a smaller permanent placard. I called the Vero police department stating it must have just been a mistake and offered the placard number. I was told , the officer didn’t see the placard and now it would just be his word against mine that it was displayed and I would have to pay a 200.00 fine. The way I see it, they targeted me, since my tags were out of state and being handicapped wouldn’t be able to fight it in court, so easy money. I have to say to the Vero Police Department, if you treat your handicapped veterans and out of state patrons like this, when I write a review for Trip Advisor and speak on social media, I hope it strikes you where it did me, in the pocket. I wouldn’t have said a word if I had been in the wrong, but clearly I wasn’t. I’ve contacted the VA and the DMV to get my plates and extra placards so idiots like you don’t make this mistake again. We were parked one block over because the parking lot was full and the front street has a 2 hour limit. I recommend finding another beach area to visit. This one isn’t worth your time and you will get a fine if your not in a public lot. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!

We tried to get to beach a little on the earlier side to get good parking. The limit was 3 or 4 hours and then we had to move our car and find another spot. Parking was free which was great! One time we drove around for 20 minutes trying to find another spot which was a real pain. Close to many good restaurants. The beach was gorgeous and I'd definitely go back.

I wish I came better prepared and could have stayed longer. An absolutely lovely beach, very chill and laid back. A gorgeous little path that takes you right to the beach. It wasn't very busy and very relaxing!

Clean beach with bathroom and free parking. Umbrella and chair rental slightly pricey. Bathroom was not very clean, but not disgusting. Could also rinse off.
