We have rented kayaks from Orchid Island for the past few years when our grandchildren and their parents come to visit. They've always been easy to work with and the kayaks were excellent for exploring Round Island. This year the weather looked nasty for both...More
This place is the best! After 10 years as a local, we still learned about the Indian River Lagoon, saw wildlife I haven't before, and had a wonderful time. Our guide kept a group of different ability levels together and all had a great time....More

So glad you had a great time! We look forward to paddling with you on your next visit to Vero.
My husband and I had great trip with Cheryl this week. It was quiet and peaceful out on the water in our kayaks. We saw a dolphin and lots of birds. We learned all about mangroves and flora and fauna of the Round Island area....More

Two of us had a lovely, private Kayak tour on the Indian River Lagoon with Malcolm as our guide this morning. It was a perfectly calm, sunny, warm day which was nice. Even though we didn't see any manatees or dolphins, we saw plenty of...More
This is definitely an experience to have when visiting the Vero Beach area. Malcolm guided us through inlets off the Indian River pointing out physical features of the environment and various wildlife. A relaxing and informative two hour trip and quite reasonably priced.

Hi Frances, State road A1A has a dedicated bike lane that runs north and south and is one of the most popular and scenic roads. The ocean and Indian River are visible at certain points. A1A is a busy road (especially from Feb. - April) but we ride it regularly. There is a sidewalk along A1A and it is legal to ride on it if you choose to do so.
The historic Jungle Trail is a scenic dirt road you can easily ride with a cruiser, hybrid or comfort bike. I don't recommend a road bike for it. If you want to get off road, the Sevastian River Buffer Preserve will get you off the beaten path and into the woods. You will need an off road bike for it as the trails are mostly sugar sand.
I hope this helps.
