Such beauty to be witnessed so close by (I live in Englewood) it's amazing to have this in our own backyard. Towards dusk the people - some loaded with cameras - start arriving to get the best views. Not to be missed!

This is a beautiful, natural setting for a variety of birds. You want to time your visit according to your interest. They do feed the young all day but naturally early morning or just before dusk is a more active time. My sister and I...More

Amazing out of the way place to see and photograph nesting Florida birds. We could have spent most of the day here. Early morning is best, though.

Come just before sunset and see the best bird show in town. Binoculars a must. Be sure to walk around the entire lake to view all the birds nesting. Pavillion available to sit under if it rains.

Maybe a couple of hundred yards off a busy road. A small lake/pond with an island in the middle that (in mid February) was packed with nesting birds, mostly egrets and blue herons. Bring the long focal length lens...I used a 350 mm and wished...More

This small area is easy to miss but worth finding. A small island in a small lake or pond is the home of countless birds. The island provides a nesting/resting place for a variety of large birds, many of which a fully visible from shore....More
