We biked the trail and enjoyed all the natural sites along the waterway. Lots of places to get off and go into town or park areas. Paved and easy to navigate on foot as well. Lots of benches and shaded areas for a rest. 11...More

Kind of disappointed this year. We always park near the trail. Wife has bad knees , but we do not think a handicap sticker is need at this time; however, we have parked here for the parade for 5 years. NOT THIS YEAR! It was...More
Always a pleasure to walk the waterway. Great to start at Shamrock, walk to Circus Bridge then recover in the Old Salty Dog before walking back. The section from Circus to The Train Depot is not as picturesque, but still worth walking. Cyclists can do...More

While I didn't recall seeing dogs, it does seem like a good park for walking a dog. It is really 2+ mile walking/biking trail that goes down both sides of the innercoastal waterway. I checked the city website and it does list dog clean-up stations (I don't recall seeing them so I don't know where). The north end right in Venice by the old train station connects right too the Legacy Trail that goes all the way to Sarasota.
