I play with a local group that has played here almost every month over several years and today we were to get a discount however the cashier didn’t and then when it was verified that we should get a different price they offered range balls instead, since several players had already paid, keep in mind that we have a shotgun start. The course isn’t loyal although the group is.Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 25, 2024
- Douglas B4 contributionsVery disappointedThe course was in poor shape. The greens were skinned and painted to the point they were fast almost to the point of being unputtable. The 13th and 16th fairways were mostly dirt with tuffs of grass. I'm played this course off and on for many years, and this was the worst shape I've ever seen it in.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 30, 2024
- Larry O8 contributionsWhere are the new Greens!I have been playing this course for 38 years, it is a fun course but the greens have always been less than average. I have seen 13 under water for months which they seem to have corrected. When they told me back a year ago they were planning to redo all of the greens it was good news. The course has made a lot of improvements to several areas. So, I heard they had opened up the new greens, I was excited and booked a Tee time. I show up and the parking look was full and into overflow parking. I mentioned that I had never seen that many vehicles at the course. The response was well we have opened the new greens. The excitement was growing, that only lastest until the second hole. The greens looked like they have for years, they spent a lot of money for nothing. Not worth the price we paid.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 21, 2024

I am with a group of regulars (playing year round) that play this course as our HOME course. We play this course in the middle of the summer months when the heat is unbearable, but love to play the game bc it is close to home. We have played this course every Monday for the past year+ and much of the time there is a hot dog + soda special that draws many of us to this course. Unfortunately, the management is showing that they are more interested in the almighty $$ than the value of their customer. Several of us are veterans and have always been honored with a VET discount. We have played the course due to having this discount. Today, the management decided that they would begin charging Vets the regular price if they wished to have the hot dog + soda special or they can get the Vet discount if they forego the hot dog + soda special. Really, ends up that Vets no longer get the same benefits and pay the same price as REGULAR members. Time for the regulars to start looking for other places to play. I know that we certainly will.

First I would like to thank you for your service for this country. We always honored the veterans here at Diamond Hill with the discounts and the Monday meal deal but the cost of food has increased and we were unable to continue this discount. Please call the course and speak with the GM. Thank you again for your sacrifice.

I have played this course more than any other in FL. It kind of feels like my "home" course. It is a little cheaper than all the other courses I've played on. It is an easy but challenging course. Easy means that it is "wide open." Word of advice: Don't do the wide open thing. You'll be in trouble. They have several holes with water to account for. The par 3 with the water is one of the best that I've played on. In fact, a number of their holes are very nice. It is one of my top 3 courses. I would say the layout is better than the other 8 courses I have played on in FL.
The only negative experience I had was when they didn't honor my raincheck. The guy didn't tell me I had a time limit.

Please get a Starter and a Ranger to keep the pace of play going! 5+ hours for a round is not good or enjoyable. The course was very dry but a couple of the bunkers had water in them?? Very strange.

Chose to go to Diamond Hill CC after my reservation for TPC Tampa Bay was not found. Good choice. #1 one was the club atmosphere. Not a single grouch, everyone was very friendly, and members were extremely pleasant to visiting guests. Course is nice an open without houses lining the fairways like most other courses in the area. They could easily add an additional 18 holes and the course would still have an open feel. Course was very fair and offered many risk-reward holes. One of the only courses in the area that I played that actually has terrain relief. Greens are a 4.5/5.0, tee boxes 4.5/5.0, fairways and bunkers 3.5-4.0/5.0, pro shop 5.0/5.0, bar & grill 4.0/5.0 (only due to limited menu). I guess that comes out to an overall average of about 4.3/5.0. Very obvious that the owner takes pride in his investment and the patronage. I expect this course to get better in short time. This course will definitely become a standard stop for my wife and I the next time we are in the Tampa area.

I have played over 125 golf courses in Florida and the Quarry Course is the best that I've played. The clubhouse is great and the staff is first rate.

I have a couple of local friends that have played this course many times before. The conditions were usually poor. Now it is under new ownership and you can see that they are pouring a lot of effort into the course. We go out at 8:30 am every Tuesday and walk right on. Not a crowd as the golf groups play earlier in the day and are on the back 9 about the time we are teeing off. We play at a leisurely pace and enjoy ourselves. The greens are in fabulous condition and some of the best in the immediate area. Surprised us when we first played this year. We play a number of courses and these are by far the best. The course is being well maintained. Staff is friendly. If you want a course without the crowd, this is the one. Reasonable cost for a morning start.

Very nice golf course and all the people that work there are very nice too. Really enjoyed the course, no rushing around and they let you have twosomes and go out on your own. Play not slow at all.

Play every week here. They are one of the highest priced courses in Brandon/Valrico/Dover area. Overpriced for current condition of course. Ownership appears to be more interested in making money than maintaining a quality course. Too many weeds on fairways & greens. Lot of bare spots on fairways. Attendance seems way down. .We are looking for other courses to play. Going to be a challenge during the season.

What would I like for you know about this attraction? First of all, I live in the neighborhood and used to play this course all the time. But since there are no longer rangers to keep things moving in the right direction at a considerate pace, I'd advise you to spend your money and time at another course. Diamond hill just isn't worth the aggravation.

For me and my group, the aggravation just isn't worth it. Spend your time and money elsewhere.
