Overall we had a great experience. The vessel was just what we were looking for no bells and whistles but allowed us to do everything we wanted for our six hours. The only thing I would recommend to do differently is tell customers ahead of time that they will be paying $4.23/ gallon marina prices for fuel at the end of the trip. Definitely wasn't expecting almost a $150 fuel charge from a $50 hold on my card.

Hi Nicole! Thank you so much for writing a review, and we're glad to hear that you and your party had a good time! We really appreciate you sharing your experience, and your point about the $50 charge not matching the price of fuel makes complete sense. Fuel prices have been climbing lately, and our general manager is now working on establishing a more accurate hold so that our customers don't have any unpleasant surprises. Thank you very much for your insight, and we hope to see you again soon, Nicole!

Boat we rented was reasonably priced, they explained everything we needed to know about area. Great time for wife and I. Will do again. Only issue with the 18’ boat is if you sit down to steer it you can’t see over instrument panel so you really need to stand while navigating. We just took turns driving the boat worked out fine.

The booking process was easy. The staff at check in was very helpful and informative. I’m an experienced boater but the information they went through was perfect for someone without extensive boating experience. They were careful to alert to storm possibilities on the radar. The nautical map combined with the GPS on the boat made navigating the area easy. The boat worked great. It’s what you would expect from a rental in a coastal environment. Would definitely do it again.

My husband I went out on Jet Ski for a quick trip around the gulf. The staff was very helpful since we hadn't been on a jet ski since we were much younger and more agile. They went out of there way to educate us. The first jet ski didn't work but they were quick to get us on another. We made on open waters and it was fun and scary. Glad to have had the experience.

The first time I rented a fishing boat with this company, I took my family out to go fishing by the Skyway bridge. On the way out I noticed the fuel gauge wasn't working. When we returned, one of my family members nicely paid for the gas while I unpacked our gear. Later, I found out it cost $90 in gas!! I thought that was way too much as we went straight to the bridge, anchored to fish, then went straight back to the Marina. At the time I just thought that's how it was.

Then comes the second time I rented a fishing boat here. This time multiple issues occurred. When I got there, I found out the boat I reserved wasn't working. I specifically reserved the boat with the T-top but we had to settle with a Bimini top which is not as easy to fish out of. But, I let it go. Then we started having engine problems. Every time we stopped, it would take at least 5-10 mins to get the engine to start. This time we did a full day rental and covered three times the amount of water in the same size boat/engine was the first time; however, gas was only $25 this time.

In addition, when we returned the boat, I mentioned the engine problems and was told they knew this engine was having problems too along with a lot of the fishing boats.

The last straw for me was this. When I got home that night, I remembered I left a bag of stuff in one of the storage compartments. I called immediately and they said they would search the boat in the morning since they were locked up already. Unfortunately, the bag never turned up. I hate to make accusations with no proof, but the bag just didn't disappear. The employee I spoke with made the effort to check the boat twice and ask other employees, but I felt as if someone was being dishonest.

Maybe I've just had bad luck, but, either way, I'm not inclined to rent from them ever again.

After years of renting boats with Tierra Verde Boat Rental my family and I were extremely disappointed:
The boat was old and terribly maintained...it could barely be used for waterskiing. For about an hour the boat did not work and when we called using the VHF radio we did not get a response. We later found out it is out of service! VHF is not a luxury, it is a requirement. It was probably the worst boat we have ever rented anywhere. The water toys are in so-so shape as well.
The price for gas was a rip-off. The gas meter in the boat didn't even work, so they charged me whatever they wanted.
And most of all, the lady who attended us was rude, sarcastic and unhelpful.
My overall experience was very bad and I will never rent again form them. I recommend to go elsewhere.

Hired a 17 foot boat from these guys after filling in loads of forms and them taking $159 for half a day. The staff were polite and helpful but assume you know as much as they do about boats and the waters around St Pete. The boat we were given was very worn but solid and the only dial of the 6 that worked was the RPM. Was told that they didn't work because of salt erosion, seems a bit suspect to me that dials aren't made to withstand the water they are built to sail in. After we got back to dock we were told to moor by the gas pump where the boat was filled up and we paid another $50. We were moving for a total of 1 out of the 4 hours on the sea. I am no boating expert so may be wrong but did really feel ripped off.

This place over charges for gas and is a RIPOFF! We go to the same place every time and it's normally $30, but this time it was $66!!!! This isn't the first time this has happened, but I confronted Bill and he got very defensive, and had no explanation. After reading many other reviews, it looks like this is a common occurrence, and you should think twice before you join this club.

I came in to rent Jet-Skis at this place a couple of Sundays ago. I was looking fowaard to make good on my word to my 13 year olddaughter for her good grades and giving her a ride.
they quickly showed and explained the paperwork. When I asked for another life-vest (to take my 13 year old for a ride) I was told that I had to bring my child to sign the paper work. I calmly told him that I would sign for my daughter since she was a minor and her signature would not be valid on a contract. They guy went BONKERS!!!!!!!! Among the things he said was that his brother was Obamas lawyer and that I could take it up with him! (Talk about a chip on someone's shoulder) For the next 2 min., besides giving me law 101, he would not come down nor let me talk...I did my best swallowing a hard pill (paying for this kind of treatment!) since I really wanted to make good on my word to my daughter, but to no avail. When he stop to take a breath I told him that I thought it might be better to rent somewhere else, just to open up a door for him to take a step back and deal....but he agreed and grabbed my paperwork! When asked if he was the owner he defiantly told me the name and number of the owner (Lisa). Yes I did call....and started by saying: "I do not want no-one fired...I just want to tell you on who's hands are you putting your business... I'm not gon'na go thru the conversation, let us just say that the apple does not fall far from the tree. There are plenty of options, don't settle.

We made a reservation for a 19ft center console, we did not get that, we got a 19ft bimini boat. Weather was so bad that a red flag warning was issued for small boats. When asked the lady about not going out because of red flag, she didnt care about user safety.. She said " its your rental do what you want, but your paying for it. They care more about money then your SAFETY! The boat was very slow and hard to steer. We told her we wanted to go to egmont key and fort desoto and when we arrived we were told we could not go because weather was too bad south of their point. But they would still let us go out in 4ft waves the other direction which we did not want to go. You can only use these boats to stay in intercoastal canals, not made for ocean. When we got back we also had to pay $50 for gas. I think the gas machine is rigged also..none of our gauges worked either. Should probably stop lying to people about that, the boat should not be sea worthy if gauges dont work. Ever hear of gilligans island?! BAD Weather!!! Would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good time. Just go get a charter boat, less hassle
