This was the only church closed during our tour of 7, so we were very lucky. However, it is still hard to see how they will increase tourism by having people come to see closed churches. The problem is that everything depends on volunteers, and I guess here the volunteer works during the day. This church is special, as it has 3 towers, most have just one, a few have 2. Other difference is the colour scheme of the front of the church.
The church is at the end of a long square, and on the square there are 2 large, wooden and decently well preserved houses. There is not much else in the village.

This small town have one of the best preserved Churches of Chiloé (World Heritage Site) it is very beautiful but this town lacks of basic services like diesel, super markets, restaurants, etc. and the closest part to have one of this services are in Dalcahue, that it is like 40 km to this town

Getting to Tenaun will take some time especially if taking the bus from Castro or Delcahue but getting out there is very nice and the church is probably the only sight in Tenaun meaning very few tourists. At the time of writing, if you arrive outside of opening hours, you have to ring the door bell of the house across the street and a woman will open the door for you for a small voluntary donation (to the church). The church was wonderful. Because we came all the way with public transport, we brought a picnic and sat on the beach watching the islands across and made ourselves some sandwiches. There is also a corner store to get some food basics and some drinks.

This small church has wonderful proportions. The color of blue of the church is similar to the sky. There are two other beautiful structures in this small village. It is worth the drive to see it.

Here was another gorgeous UNESCO Chiloe church that was closed to tourists during prime touring hours. I don't understand why so many of these churches are closed. The exterior is very pretty Wish we could have seen the interior.

In the village of Tenaun by the square is a well-kept World heritage wooden church with beautiful proportions. Beautiful mild blue exterior, that contrasts nicely with the blue sky and the green hills behind.
You can climb the middle tower and have a look at the big bell inside.
Not crowded.

Really nice church, wooden one, from outside and inside. Tower is to climb to, 26 meters, inside is big bell. Inside construction is in for of the boat. Unesco heritage.
