My son and I spent a March day back-country fishing with Captain Dave and had a fantastic experience. It was a tougher day with some wind and murky conditions but he got us on fish all day. 14 snook, most over 30", several seatrout, and a big redfish with shots at more. He really knew the water/tides and where fish would be - super helpful with my 13 yr old who is just learning backcountry fishing. Great guy and a great coach for those of us that don't get to do this all the time. Skiff fishing with Cap Dave was really enjoyable and his prices are really fair and reasonable. If you want a quality guide and a good shot at a backcountry slam, Captain Dave is the man. Will definitely be fishing with him again.

I’ve been fishing with captain Dave since 2006, and every year we consistently catch a variety of back country species - trout, snook, tarpon, redfish, ladyfish, tripletail, snapper, and sharks. When the conditions are right, Dave is one fo the best at finding gigantic Permit, which is the thrill of a lifetime to catch on the flats. Florida Bay has been dealt some tough blows over the years from Winter freezes that kill off tens of thousands of fish, algae blooms, hurricanes, and now Conrona Virus, and Dave has weathered the storm every time, and bounced back hard, catching even more fish than before. He is also easy going, friendly, and funny, so we not only catch lots of fish, we have a great time hangin out! Cant wait for my next trip

Awesome trip with a group of 4-Dave got a 2nd boat and we launched our tournament at 830am, 2 guys per boat.
1 boat caught 8 snook and 10 24”+ red fish. The second boat caught a mix of 30-40 trout and snook.
We finished the trip around 5 and look forward to seeing Dave and his crew again next year. Cheers!

Fishing charter for 2 on a slightly chilly day in early February with high winds, strong currents, and overcast skies. Despite less than ideal conditions, we had a great time with Captain Dave. The fishing was steady throughout the day. We hit probably 6-8 different fishing holes and caught 20 or so fish (snook, catfish, trout, tarpon). Dave was a fantastic guide. He knows all the best spots and was a great fishing coach throughout the day for both of us. It was my wife’s first “real” fishing trip and she can’t stop talking about how enjoyable of an experience it was - a huge credit to Dave. Look no further for the ideal Florida Keys fishing guide. WHEN we return to the Keys, we’ll go back out with Captain Dave in a heartbeat.

Our day with Captain Dave was incredible. It started with a fish on the very first cast and we saw non-stop action for the rest of the day. We wound up catching seven different species. My eleven-year-old son is new to fishing and Captain Dave gave him great instruction while being patient and gentle. Before we headed in, we hooked a big shark that my son fought for about 10 minutes and then landed it. He had such a blast. Captain Dave is a friendly and genuine guy and he's just an outstanding charter captain. We will definitely be back.

This was our first trip with Captain Dave. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in the Keys. The trip was incredible – awesome weather and Captain Dave got us right into the fish. It was likely the best charter trip I have ever been on – we caught more fish than you could count including snook, redfish, tarpon, trout, jack, and more. In fact, I got 2 grand slams – more than 2 snook, redfish & tarpon. We also really enjoyed Captain Dave’s company and knowledge of the Keys and Everglades National Park. I simply can enough of Captain Dave’s professionalism and knowledge of the fishery!

The very first cast landed a fish and it just didn't stop. Patient, diligent, prepared. Captain Dave will make your day of fishing a joy - whatever your skill and experience level. We had a blast. For back country fishing, Captain Dave delivers.

Went out on a one day inshore fishing trip with Dave and it exceeded all my expectations, especially in January when things can be a little slow. We caught 14 Snook, 1 Redfish, 1 Trout, 3 Jacks, and about half a dozen catfish. Our tally was about 25, when I caught a little lady fish. Dave said, "lets see what this can do." He hooked it up on a Carolina rig and in 5 minutes we were battling a fish of a lifetime. After 20 minutes of fighting both the fish and I were pretty spent. When we got it to the surface it was a 6 foot Lemon shark! Took a couple of photos, and carefully took the hook out of its mouth. Thanks for the great day Dave!

Captain Dave Perkins is the best guy around for back country fishing! He knew all the spots and it wasn’t long until we started catching ladyfish, speckled trout, redfish and snook. His impressively keen eye doesn’t miss a single detail in the back country, and we even saw a flamingo. He’s funny and personable, I just can’t recommend him enough!!

This was by far the best fishing trip I’ve been on. As a local Florida Keys native I wanted to try Flats Fishing for the first time and Dave was the perfect host. We caught fish the entire time, and were able to snag some Snook, Speckled Sea Trout, Red Fish, and a Black Tip Shark. Most were catch and release, but we were able to take a Trout home and made a fresh meal.
