All Aboard America’s Favorite Movie Train - "The Orange Blossom Cannonball" on the Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad. Your journey begins from our centrally located depots in either Mount Dora or Tavares. Take the train, stay to eat & shop, and catch a later train back to your starting point. Your excursion is a 1 hour and 45-minute roundtrip between depots. You will travel in vintage coaches pulled by our 1907 wood-fired steam locomotive (most Saturdays) or our 1941 GE 45 ton center cab locomotive (Wednesday – Friday & Sunday). Ride in the actual train cars that stared in over 20 movies, including: “True Grit”, “Appaloosa”, “3:10 to Yuma”, and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?.” Ride in the actual coaches where famous stars such as Robert Redford, Johnny Cash, and George Clooney once performed.

I stopped in to check prices & schedules and it is closed! I heard that they are bringing in a different train with a different company for the Holiday season. Stay tuned "Polar express"?

Was in Mount Dora this afternoon and as always walked down to the railway. Looks pretty well abandoned, rusty track, weeds and bushes all along as far as I could see. Station building locked up, no advertizing anywhere. No sign of any activity except for...More

A fun family trip. The ride is approximately 35 minutes on this quaint, historical train and you can travel from Mount Dora to Tavares or vice versa. You pass beautiful views of Lake Dora and the surrounding houses. Tavares is great for a family with...More

Thank you for the review. It's always fun to ride on trains and it's rare to find a 100-year old train still in daily service. We're glad you enjoyed it.

Years ago there was a dinner train that ran in the Eustis, Mount Dora area. Sadly it is no longer operating.
