Beautiful back bay bayou lined with gorgeous parkland and Victorian homes. If you're lucky you'll spot dolphins and/or manatees lurking in the water. Nearby is where they have the annual "diving for the cross" sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Church here in Tarpon Springs. This event draws thousands just after New Year's Day.
Stop in at the Sponge Docks and have a delicious Greek meal while you're at it and make it a day!

Amazed to see dolphins
Feb 2020
This is such a pleasant place to walk-very scenic and peaceful. We were surprised to see several dolphins swimming around.

Not just the bayou, but the whole package
Sep 2019
The water itself in the bayou was not so pretty today, lots of algae because it was so warm. But that warmth is what the dolphin and manatees will be looking for in a few months. However, the package includes the beautiful Victorian homes which surround the bayou and the grounds along the water. It reminds me of days gone by. A quiet genteel outdoor area to relax. It has even been blessed by the hierarchy of the Greek Orthodox church.

If you want to relax on the bayou, take a walk, or take a jog around, it is a nice area with historic houses, etc. lining the bayou. Nearby park has tennis courts too.

Two frolicking dolphins made our day
Feb 2019 • Couples
We stopped on our way back from Fred Howard and parked by the tennis courts. We talked to a lady getting her kayak into the water....no manatees but a good chance for dolphins. Sure enough we were walking along and saw the fins of two dolphins. Didn't get any faces but had some fun pictures to share. It was a very pleasant walk.

Dolphin and Manatees!
Dec 2018 • Couples
The lady in the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce recommended us taking a walk to the bayou, I think it was about 1/2 a mile and it was worth the walk. My wife and I saw Manatees hanging out and saw a dolphin right next to us on the walkway playing with some fish. Very nice homes around the area.

Most beautiful spot in Tarpon!

This bayou is so beautiful. The sidewalks, the gnarly trees, beautiful homes, and of course the bayou itself. Beautifully maintained and well worth a visit for a walk or picnic.

A nice walk around the bayou and a good place in the winter to see lots of Manatee. There are events such as the art and craft show and the cross diving event that are fun.
