After years of visiting relatives in the area and walking by the tour folks, we decided to take the plunge. First cruise was sold out, so we chose the 12:30 departure. Boat was full. Those needing accommodations and their families went first, followed by those who needed shade. We saw a school of dolphins and spent about a half hour... More

Tried to get on the Odyssey sunset cruise, but they didn't have enough people, so they cancelled their trip (at least 1/2 hour ahead of departure time), so went to Spongorama and the man told me they were definitely sailing for their sunset cruise. Great! Called my friend who drove out to join me and after waiting awhile, they said,... More

For $18 each, we felt like this was a great deal! A bottle of water is $2 and they sell beer and margaritas. This probably helps them keep their prices low. It was a wonderful 2 hours. The ride to Anclote Key was pleasant. We saw dolphins jumping in the wake of the boat on the way back. The stop... More

Sightseeing. Didn't see dolphins but enjoyed the boat ride. The margaritas were good. They come from a local restaurant. Wish the time on the beach was longer. Definitely were your bathing suit. You will want to swim in the wonderful water.

This was our second, and very likely not last, Spongeorama Cruise! Tarpon Springs for my birthday is something of a tradition since moving to Florida, and this year was no exception. Once again we drove to the Gulf and the charming and wonderful small town - Tarpon Springs. There are a number of ways to enjoy this area. One of... More

My husband and I enjoyed a couple of hours on the water on this tour. We were able to see nesting osprey as well as dolphin. The 30 minute shelling stop was not really long enough--an hour would have been better. I wasn't expecting to find anything since who knows how many tourists disembark in the same area every day.... We have gone on this "dolphin" cruise a few times. It's more of a sightseeing and she'll hunting tour. I do with we could spend more time on the island looking for shells!

They have street criers, "All Aboard!" We finished our drinks at the restaurant out front and went to purchase tickets to the advertised 4:30 trip. It was 4:05 PM. Purchased tickets, told the trip was "On" because we made it more than 15 passengers. Great! Went back to the Sponge store to board and found that we were sold tickets... More

The only thing that I would say that we wish we were on the island a little longer. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour. Also the reason we took the cruise was to see the lighthouse. We were still about a half a mile away but definitely a great value. The crew was awesome and made us feel at home.... More

If you are going on this tour to get to know the history and the area or to see dolphins, I would recommend it. The captain knew a lot about the area and we were able to see dolphins. If, however, someone tried to talk you into this tour to shell ((which is how they sold me the tickets)) then... More
