Great ride!

We rented bikes for the day to explore downtown St. Pete. The bikes were comfortable and we didn’t have any issues. We ended up renting for the day and it cost us $20 each. I highly recommended biking along Vinoy Park.

Bike Crooks Be Aware of excessive charges!

BE AWARE. BE VERY AWARE! Before you give them your credit card information make sure you are okay with a company that will charge you extra for no reason, offer no explanation, continue to charge you more then fight you when you try to get your money back. Currently in a 2 month long battle to get $240 they stole from me. Terrible customer service, they are another big business only worried about $. Not customers.

Android app users beware

Fyi-
If you do not have an iphone, you will not have the capability to "unlock" more than 1 bike. The app was meant for iphone and apple users only. If you are an Adroid user, you are SOL!

Bikes not maintained and not working in majority of hub's for last two months !
Oct 2018 • Couples
The bikes are in need of repair but most of all the majority of the bikes are not available to use daily. I have tried hubs in Hyde park, across from Bayshore Publix, Downtown, the Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Park etc. I have tried in the morning and in the afternoon. The connection is not available for the majority of the bikes or sometimes no bikes are available on all of the hubs. The light should be green but does not work to access the bike and enter your account number. When you call they don't seem to think there is a problem and also via e-mail. I work in a local hotel and the guest's also complain. It's such a pity as there seems to be nobody taking care of the upkeep of the bikes or checking the hubs daily. There are various red stickers on the bikes and I'm not sure what this means? The whole system needs a fresh pair pair of eyes and a complete revamp.I see tourists struggle daily with it and just walk away. How long will it be until all the hubs are up and running in downtown, Bayshore Publix and Hyde Park and Convention Ctr ?

Great way to get around Tampa
Feb 2018 • Solo
This was my first experience with a bike share service. It was very positive. The app is easy to use and signing up was easy. There are bike stations all over the downtown area, which makes it easy to drop off and pick up bikes. I like the way the service charges by the minute. It makes it economical for short rides. It is great to not have to worry about locking a bike and then having to go back for it. The lights are also great if you are riding after the sun goes down.

Coastal bike share experience
Oct 2016 • Friends
Rented the bicycles and road ALL over downtown Tampa to Bayshore Blvd to Ballest park. Had a wonderful time. Bicycles were in great shape even have bells to alert pedestrians. I would definitely recommend using the bikes. Just remember to bring a bag to hold your things in the basket. Basket has large spaces were water bottles slip out otherwise.

Disappointing – bikes are poorly maintained
Jun 2016 • Couples
Coast Bike Share is such an incredible idea and I hope that it becomes a great success. Tampa is an excellent city to bike, and Coast Bike Share has a number of locations around the city, so in theory it provides a nice way to get around this fun and compact city. However, their execution is very weak, primarily because of the poor quality and maintenance of their bikes, and the lack of attention to fixing them. I have now been using the bikes for over a month and have been determined to give it a chance, and as a result have taken over 30 rides during that time. Sadly I have encountered issues over 75% of these trips, yes 3 out of 4 times I rent there is a problem, such as a flat tire, a loose part, stuck keys on the often unreadable electronic display, or a loose seat. The bad part of this is there is no way to report these failures so they don’t get fixed. The mobile software is easy to use and has some great features to find locations, but I wish it would allow the opportunity to report an issue. As an example, last night I went out for a long ride and had to return three bikes at three different racks because of failures, but had no way to show they were out of order, so presumably somebody else later ended up with the broken bike and encountered the same issue. The business model is reasonable as they have several alternatives. My wife and I chose the flat monthly fee of $15 which provides up to 60 minutes free per day. It’s so annoying to have to spend around 5 minutes each time I pick up a bike checking that it works which sort of defeats the objective. I gave it a good try, but I do not plan on renewing at the end of my second month.
