The USF Sun Dome is a great location for seeing comedians. Parking can be a little challenging but we were also running a bit late since our dinner ran longer than expected. But the little further we had to walk was no big deal. The venue is nice & clean and just the right size for every seat in the house to have a great view!

Lots of choices

Just had a great experience at the USF Sun Dome for a Cheerleading Competition. Great seating, good vendors (not enough open for the event), but all in all, a fun time. Great place for an event!!

Recently visited for Sesame Street Live. Loved the show and the facility. Parking was conveniently close and facility was clean and hospitable. The recent updates are very nice.

Didn’t eat ...so no opinion on concessions.
Restrooms were spotless and easily located.
Sat on the floor which offered a great view of the show.

Note the name change!

Good experience

I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the house. We were there for a basketball game. I will say they could do a better job of signage for disabled parking near the arena. There's no way to know, based on the signs, that there are a fair number of parking spots close to the arena which may or may not be taken when you arrive.

Lacking in Several Areas

Overall this is a decent place to watch a basketball game. The problems were with all the other things you expect when you go to a college sporting event. I was a little surprised by the cost of $10 to park. While I understand they're trying to make additional revenue, I would have been more comfortable with a smaller fee to park. The concession stands are minimal and don't offer much. Even the condiments consisted of only ketchup and mustard. I was very disappointed by an usher that insisted upon seeing our tickets even though we had been in that section for the entire first half. There were lots of open seats and our hands were full of items we had purchased at the concession stand. A friendlier attitude would have gone a long way in making us want to return. Finally, upon exiting the parking lot there is a lot of confusion resulting from little or no signs. I'm guessing there were a lot of students that were in a hurry to get back to studying because we were honked at and cut off even though we were obeying the speed limits and signage. Let's try to make visitors feel more welcome at the Sun Dome and you might have better attendance at the game.

Dangerous
Feb 2017 • Friends
The USF Sun Dome is a decent on-campus arena with some serious and potentially dangerous situations.

1. Parking is close in, although patrons are not made aware of close in handicapped parking. Without prior knowledge, I would have parked in a inconvenient area. Charge is $10. Confusing signage in the lots regarding certain rows being closed off.

2. Concessions are totally inadequate. Extremely limited, more like what you'd expect at a little league game. Ordered a cheeseburger, got a hamburger. Condiments consisted on ketchup and mustard.

3. Arena. Pretty good view of the game. Posted game stats hard to read. No clock to be seen so you have no idea what time of day it is.

4. Wheelchair seating is a pain. Told to enter gate C then directed 3/4 of the way around the arena to access the elevator to the 200 level seats. Had to ask, no information was volunteered. Would be much easier to go through the club seating, but this was not allowed. The elevator is the only wheelchair access to these seats. When we left the arena, the door to the elevator was locked, essentially locking us into the arena. There is no reason for a lock on this door, much less for it to be locked.

USF Wants a powerhouse athletic program, but their game day experience is definitely second class at best.

A nice arena

I visited the Sun Dome at USF to watch a men's basketball game. The view of the court was good. The food taste and choices left a lot to be desired. Don't go hungry.

Girl scout event!

We went to a Girl Scout event and it was awesome! The place was perfect for all the stuff they had for the girls to do and everything was easily accessible. It was busy and there were a lot of people but it was still a great time!

Nose bleed zone available if you arrive late

As with big universities such as USF, the basketball arena that serves as the venue for graduation is enormous. Graduates filled the entire floor while family and relatives clamor to find good seats. Arrived an hour and a half early and were fortunate to not require oxygen though we were by no means close to the stage. By the time the graduation ceremony people were "hanging" from the rafters and the place was filled to the brim except for the seats behind the stage where one could see nothing. Parking was adequate though they forced us to exit on the far east side of the campus and we waited for four light changes before getting onto Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Security was tight and everything was examined and no food even water bottles were not allowed though you could buy food once you were inside. Well placed Jumbo-trons do allow one to see your loved one get her degree but otherwise you might as well be looking at ants crossing the stage.
