I wanted to see what was going on so I rolled down on my motorcycle. The winter is better for viewing manatees because they rest in the warm water of the power plant. Tarpon can be abundant and easy to see. Most are young adult...More

Our family always takes guests here, excellent for viewing and variety of informative on manatees. This is definitely a must-see for families and those with young children. A sunny day is best, but go anytime, easy access for all ages and needs.

Didn't know that they didn't let the manatees out until the first of November. This place is easy to find but closed the day we arrived. I guess the manatees show up from November 1st through April - it's a winter activity when the manatees,...More

Kids love it and it is a no cost half hour to an hour event that is a very easygoing way to see some nature and learn.

You may think you're coming for manatees, but all you'll see is the glaring and obnoxious Tampa Electric. It's industrial. Sure, I saw manatees-- but hardly, I could only see a black dot poking up above the waterline from about 100 feet away. The manatees...More

We went on a warm winter day in December (yes, it was actually closer to hot here), and it was just something to kill time before dinner. Parking was crazy, the lot was full and people were taking up double spaces - but they had...More

To enjoy this manatee viewing area, you have to go in the winter months when the manatees come into the power plant area for warmer water. Nov-Feb. definitely go out on the pier and explore through the mangroves. It's a fun little free excursion. Won't...More

I don't think they have wheel chairs but I do know they have wheel chair ramps. Very accessible for everyone.

They are typically there in the cooler weather trying to stay in the warmer water. I believe the sight is open all year.
