The Straz Center began as a dream by visionary citizens of Tampa who persevered to bring to reality one of the finest performing arts centers in the nation. It is many things to many people and it’s more than just a building, more than just a performing arts center. It is a presenter, a producer, an educator, a community partner and an economic engine for the Tampa Bay area. It is a cornerstone of the Tampa Bay community. The Straz Center creates a regional economic impact of more than $100 million each year. To our local economy it can mean more tourists staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, shopping in stores and visiting other venues when they are here. At both the local and national level, it provides access to more than 700,000 people of all ages, abilities and cultures each year. It also provides jobs for artists and other professionals who have a passion for the arts and for our mission.

There are no bad seats here. The space between rows is larger than most facilities. Plenty of leg room and you do not have to stand to allow others to get to their seats. One downfall is the limited restroom, especially the women's room. There is always a line of patrons waiting to get to the restroom.

This theater is HUGE but while we say way up in the Gallery, I was very impressed with how good the view and sound was for as far away we were. Recommend arriving early and paying extra for the VIP valet. Well worth it to not fuss with parking. My only complaint was the long bathroom lines (worst I have... More

We went to see Wicked. Great show. This was our first time at the Straz. Staff were very helpful getting us in and to our seats. Restaurants on site if you want to eat before the show. Don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Parking is a little tricky. We parked across the street in the parking... More

Went to see Wicked last night at the Straz and had a wonderful time. The venue is well located on the river with the Riverwalk giving access to the surrounding areas. Being from the area we know to arrive early to any downtown venue to make the parking a little easier. We arrived about an hour before showtime and easily... More

Went to see "Wicked" on a Tuesday night and thought we would have plenty of time. Getting across the bridge takes a while and that's to be expected. However, there were no traffic signals, no one directing traffic, no signage as to where one should go to park. After TWO HOURS to go a couple of blocks we finally found... More

An intimate evening with Yanni, his grand piano and conversation was splendid. The in-depth topics Yanni spoke about was terrific, but there was More Talking then there was music being performed. We were a little disappointed, but it is always great to see Yanni, nonetheless. Now for the review of the Straz Center (Ferguson Hall) and etc. The valet was... More

Haven't even gotten into the venue yet...as I'm sure NO ONE HAS because parking is a DISASTER here. Nothing like paying over $200 for tickets and missing part of the show because you cannot get in.

There are 6 seats in Balcony 1 - Box A and they are, perhaps the most poorly situated seating area in Ferguson Hall. Due to it's location, I could not view part of the stage from this section and I missed part of the performance whenever the actors entered this blind spot. Also, the screen that displays the English translation... More

I've visited a few other entertainment venues in the Tampa area but the Straz beats them all! Conveniently located minutes from the highway, right on the Riverwalk (can't beat the view) with limited valet parking but lots of parking options otherwise. Even the water taxis pull right up to the entrance! I was most impressed with the seating...not really a... More
