Captain Stewart knows his fishing area and more! My wife and I really had a great time catching Snook, Sea Trout and Red Fish as fast as we could reel. 30 plus fish on a 6 hour trip that also included nature and conservation information that Florida is working on to improve the waters. I think the Captain read us very well and realized we wanted more than just a fishing trip. We saw Manta and sting rays, Sharks, Manatees and Sea birds beyond count. I really hope we can get back down there from Wyoming for another trip out with the Captain!

Great Fishing Experience with Captain Stewart! This was our boys (ages 11,13 & 15) first fishing experience and Captain Stewart made it amazing! He knew right where to look for fish and he took us to several different spots during our 6 hour trip.

We fished for Snook near rocks close to shore, for Red Fish near mangroves and we also fished in the intercoastal water. This variety of scenery really kept our children engaged throughout our trip.

While fishing, Captain Stewart was great at helping all three of my children cast and know what to do when a fish took the bait. He was a great teacher.

He even went out of his way, when my 13 year old was starting to feel sea sick, to bring him to a beach so that he could walk around on land for a few minutes. That helped him so much and afterwards he was back ready to fish again!

We caught several good sized fish and Captain Stewart then cleaned them all for us to take home for dinner! This was an incredible experience!

I set up a four-hour trip which included my father and brother-in-law. Captain Stewart put us on seatrout first thing in the morning, and we had our limit in less than an hour. Next, we relocated to another area and began catching some monster redfish. Finally, we finished the morning fishing for snook. Captain Stewart is a highly knowledgeable, experienced fishing guide that I highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience! Can’t stress enough how great this charter is, or how great of captain Stewart is. The guy not only gets you on the fish all day long, but he’s great with anglers that might be just a little green around the edges when it comes to fishing. I learned so much from him on just one trip… so fun and my kids loved it. Great outing!!

We've fished with Captain Stewart for 8 years and always enjoy our time on "Gone Fishing Charters". Whether you are new to fishing or a seasoned angler, Stewart is a great teacher and helps improve your fishing skills. His boat and gear are top notch and he has excellent knowledge of the local waters. If you want to entertain clients, take your work team on a celebration trip or just take the family out for fun, I highly recommend "Gone Fishing Charters"

Fished with Captain Stewart and some buddies on a 6 hour trip and had a fantastic time! We limited on sea trout, redfish, and one of our guys caught a 34” snook!!
I’ve been fishing with Stewart for about 10 years and he’s always worked hard to put you on fish, knows the waters well, and is respectful of each fisherman on board. Great guy!
Can’t wait to get back on the water with Capt. Stewart again!

My 14 year old daughter and I went fishing with Captain Stewart Ames of Gone Fishing Charters in late March 2020. It was a little early in the year, but with some warm weather and Capt. Stewart's expertise, we caught a bunch of kingfish just a few miles from shore. A couple of the kingfish were in the 12 lbs. - 15 lbs. rage.

As we moved inshore, we didn't get much of a break. Almost on queue - based on Captain Stewart's read of the tides - the redfish were biting. We caught a 34 inch bruiser, plus nearly a dozen other respectable fish.

I certainly don't expect every day fishing to be like this one, but after many trips with Capt. Stewart, success like this is becoming the norm!

What a great experience! I am a born and bred freshwater angler (bass and trout) and this was my first experience with saltwater. Captain Ames provided fresh bait, top-of-the-line tackle, and his boat was in immaculate condition. Captain Ames put us on snook immediately and was very thorough and patient while describing the differences between the freshwater and saltwater techniques. During my two days fishing with Stewart I was able to catch several different species of fish, with a focus on snook and redfish. I recommend a day with Gone Fishing Charters with great enthusiasm. I was fortunate to spend two days on the water and was so impressed with the enthusiasm and sincere joy that Captain Ames exhibited on the trips. He is not only a skilled angler and a consummate professional, he is a great teacher as well.

The absolute best part is hooking a 35 Inch Snook and getting to fight for a little while using lightweight (10 lb.) tackle before hauling that sweet fish on board. We caught a few more on a beautifully sunny morning and lost a few as well.

Overall, our experience with Captain Stewart Ames of Gone Fishing Charters was truly outstanding. I would definitely call on him again to fish the Clearwater / Tampa Bay area if I go back.

Thanks for a great 1/2 day of fishing Captain!

Captain Ames came highly recommended by a family friend that fishes the Tampa area frequently. Set a 6 hour trip up for my college aged daughter and myself. Captain Ames got us into Red Snapper, Mackerel, Red Fish and Trout. Captain Ames was a consummate professional (important to me with my daughter on board), provided great conversation, taught us some new techniques and got us on the fish (also important!). Absolutely would recommend him.
