As a Tampa resident, i've been to Hyde Park Village multiple times over the past few years for different events (outdoor market), restaurants or to just walk around the area. The area is cute and quaint but rather small and can wear thin pretty quickly...More

We spent part of an afternoon strolling Hyde Park Village. The stores always seem fresh and up to date. There’s always something to attract the eye. Worth a stroll.

Hyde Park began on February 13, 1886, now filled with Georgian and Mediterranean estates has become one of the most desirable and glamorous residential sections of Tampa. Have a Sprinkles cup cake and walk it off on Bay Shore Blvd.

Quite impressed with this shopping area. It was clean, chic, and peaceful. Stores like anthropologie and pottery barn kids amongst small boutiques make this a quaint area to hang around. Restaurants were busy during prime time. Great to sit outside with your pet. Like a...More

I lived in Olde Hyde Park, as it was know, about 15 years ago. Went back for a visit to see changes. Disappointed that a whole strip/block of older stores were torn down reducing the charm. The poor area, although nice, just still seems to...More

That aquarium is surprisingly good and we've been to some good ones, including Monterrey and Boston. I would definitely recommend it. Having our own boat there, we've never tried to do the dolphin cruise, so cant' help with that. I like Hyde Park, both the shops and one of my favorite lunch spots...the Wine Exchange, which would be fine for your little one at lunch as well, despite the name.

Would like to try to see some different parts of Florida this year and are thinking of going to Old Hyde Park Village, The Sunshine Skyway Bridge etc. Could anyone let me know if there are any other different places for shopping besides the Malls which may have speciality/different stores and anything else you think we could see whilst we are over for two weeks - not too long a drive as we will be based in Orlando. Thank you

Are Old Hyde Park Village and University Mall worth a visit?

In my humble opinion...no. Especially University Mall. You'd be better off to visit International Mall, which is close to Tampa Airport. Higher end stores. Newer mall. Just better overall.
