This is a unique taller than normal overpass that offers super views for pictures and worthy of a stop once at the bottom travelling south.

I'm not really sure why this is so highly ranked on trip advisor. It's a bridge. Some interesting info though, if you do cross the bridge, you'll notice fishing piers at either end. These are from the original bridge which collapsed when a ferry hit it on a very foggy day.

if you were going from St. Petersburg south to Bradington or vice versa you across the mouth of Tampa Bay on the sunshine Skyway bridge it's got a beautiful view and that's not all there's a rest area on each end of the bridge fishing dock as well as the picnic areas and recreation areas i've seen everything from windsurfers... OK, it's kind of strange to review a segment of the interstate. That being said, this is one of the finest stretches of interstate (technically, I-275) in all of Florida. It's worth the toll at least once to travel over the iconic Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This bridge was the replacement for the original bridge (Google more on the history of... More

I'm probably prejudiced about my views of the "Skyway", living about a mile from it's entrance on I 275 in St Pete. It was built to replace the ugliest bridge ever. The original Skyway lost it's south-bound side when the Summit Venture struck on of the "protective" bumper and the structure collapsed at it's almost highest point, sending a Greyhound... More

This bridge is awesome. Be prepared to pay a toll of $1.25 to cross the bridge. If you afraid of heights may i suggest left lane closest to the inside. The rest stops on either side are great and i liked that there was a guard there. Made me feel safer. Driving this bridge at night is lovely, it feels... More

It's yellow and looks really cool. Oh yeah, by Florida standards its big too. As a driver it may be rather unremarkable, but if you're into fishing, it's a good place to get a good catch. Red snapper and the occasional grouper are some of the better fish in these waters

The Sunshine Skyway is much more than a convenient, picturesque roadway bridging the City of Saint Petersburg and southern Pinellas County with access to all coastal towns and cities to the south including Bradenton, Anna Maria Island, and Sarasota. The Skyway hosts two enormous fishing piers, one on the northern side and one on the southern side from which anglers... More

a great time saver going to St. Pete, Clearwater & Tampa from Manatee & Sarasota counties. Additionally, provides great views of the surrounding areas. We have taken beautiful pictures from the rest areas.
