I enjoyed my ride down Hillsborough River.. I launched just off Fowler exit (from I- 75) at a public ramp. The river was slow enough I could paddle against the current for a half mile then a quicker ride back. The only thing I didn't care for was both sides of the river is full of private houses all the... More

Canoe, kyaak, pontoon boat... they are all great ways to see the river. Wildlife at every turn. Gators, turtles, hawks, ospreys, mallards, and more. The entire river is minimum wake, slow for the entire portion north of 56th Street in Temple Terrace. Thre are two boat ramps, one at the park in Temple Terrace, just off Riverhills Drive and another... More

A beautiful place for an evening stroll... You get a great view of the Tampa skyline and can see the minarets of the University of Tampa. There are places to sit and stop and get something to eat. Joggers and families were using it and it felt quite safe in the evening.

We took our 17' boat down a few times. Nice relaxing somewhat scenic trip. We see several people kayaking. That would not be for us as there are gators too. They do not seem to bother the kayakers or the boaters.

Spent a nice day on the river- put in at Lowry park on a thursday- the day was beautiful and the boat ramp was very good- could only find one place to dock and eat on the river which made the day not as great as it could have been

My son love to look at the water and this is a great place to do so. Plus there is a park so you can burn off all that energy and have a sleepy baby at night.

The listing for Hillsborough River Kayak isn't included on the Trip Advisor listing so I'm creating one. Discovered this family operated kayak rental on a search and glad I did. The part of the river (near Alicia Avenue) where you enter is scenic, easy when there's no wind, and is very cost effective. A few more strokes (plus) and you... More
