This was my parish church more than 40 years ago until I moved yo another city. When I returned, I live farther so I did not visit regularly. I love the architecture especially the stained glass windows. The staff was always nice and welcoming. If you are in the downtown area, stop by even just to see the interior of the church. It is worth your time.

We drove around this neighborhood on our way back when exploring the Bayshore blvd. We turned into a nice side street with gorgeous houses and just got lost in the area.
This upscale part of Tampa has many dining and nightlife options, along with Hyde Park Village shopping center with many chain stores.

I was out walking in the downtown area when I read about a shopping area in Hyde Park so I set out for the walk. It was about 1 1/2 mile for me but it was a sunny day so I was enjoying the walk and weather. There is a lot of older beautiful homes on the way making for a great neighborhood feel. I arrived at the shopping area and stopped off at Goody Goody for a delicious lunch. They also have other places to eat, a variety of little shops even a Hawaiian Shop. The shopping area was very clean, and nice, so if looking for something to do while in Tampa venture out to the Hyde Park neighborhood.

Great location to so many parts of town. Hyde Park has lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Some good shopping too. Nice area for just hanging out. There is a small area with grass and water fountain. Great place to just chill.

Those who have lived in the Tampa area for quite a while know that Hyde Park is just a charming area of town. Tampa is not an older city by any means in relation to other cities (NYC, Boston, Philly, Chicago, etc.). But, for Tampa, the Hyde Park area has all the historical and preserved homes from the early 1900's. Hyde Park is right there at Bayshore Blvd, very close to downtown Tampa, near TGH and quite a few shops and restaurants. This all makes it a phenomenal location. If you want to live or hang out in a charming and chilled area of town (including the 'historical' homes in town), Hyde Park is for you!

If you talk to any of the local residents, quaint is always used first to describe Hyde Park. When the economy crashed, it was hard to keep businesses in the area. But over the last year, quite a few new boutiques/businesses have opened. Sometimes, there's free music in the "park"..or an art show. The first Sunday of every month, there's a fresh market from 9am-5pm. There are 4 different restaurants in the "circle"...and several different retail stores. There's also a pottery making shop, cinema, gym & hair salon. There are 3 different parking garages...all free of charge. There's really no street parking, so you have to park in one of these garages.

Of course I like it because I live here - but you may like it too. The neighborhood was established in the 1920s and has been preserved to a great extent. It is on the national historic register and the predominant architecture is American Bungalow style - similar to great northern neighborhoods of the same era.
In the center of the neighborhood is The Old Hyde Park Village, a collection of up-scale shops and restaurants (Lululemon, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie, West Elm, and many privately-owned boutiques. For great food, there's The Wine Exchange, Piquant, Timpano and Nature's Table Cafe. My favorite is the CineBistro, where you can get a great dinner and drinks while watching a first-run movie in LazyBoy-like seats.
