Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

This animal sanctuary rescues big cats in abuse or neglect situations. The volunteers are very dedicated and they do a very good job educating the public about the situation with big cats in this country. The park is clean and well maintained. The cats appear healthy and in good condition. It is unusual to get this close to wild animals.

We loved it. We did the 90 minute walking tour at 10am. We had our 11 yr old kids and they loved it too! We seen a lot of big cats. Our tour guide was great. The cats are very well cared for and the grounds are very nice. Next time we go to Tampa we want to do the... More

You need reservations I think. There are many cats that are kept in pens that you walk around. Lions, Tigers, Florida Panthers, etc.

The experience of walking through the sanctuary and seeing the various cats up close and personal is outstanding. We went on the 9:30 AM feeding tour and the staff was amazing. They truly love working to protect and nourish these animals. Our guide has worked at the facility over 18 YEARS. To hear some of the sad tales of how... More

Did the 90 minute walking tour with Denny as our guide. Leisurely walking tour with great explanation as to the animals and the sanctuary . Animals were close by for great photo opportunities in a safe environment. Enjoyable, for a great cUse and would go again.

We visited Big Cat Rescue on Easter Sunday. I think what the BCR does for these beautiful animals is amazing. The tour took us around the entire rescue and we were able to see all different types of cats ranging from servals to lions. I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Tampa!

I was impressed with the care and consideration for the animals, and the design of the facility. I would image they are as happy as they can be without being in the wild.

I've been looking forward touring BCR for years. And it didn't disappoint. So glad to have been able to see all the big cats I've seen on the internet in person. They are truly magnificent. If you are in Tampa, go to Big Cat Rescue and see these cats. Support them in the meantime. They do have golf carts if... More
