I went to Adventure Island with my 16, 13 and 12 year olds. We had a fun time. It iOkay if you have a fun pass, which we have, but not worth the money is you are just going for one day .
When going in to adventure island I was surprised that everything to the right of the park was closed down and being redone. The paradise lagoon slides (which were 4) and the other tube ride that was next to it are no longer available. Was a little disappointed but there are still plenty of slides, so we headed the other direction. We had fun in the rides that we were able to do, but unfortunately too may were closed which was frustrating. The corkscrew slides, the water moccasin slides (which are 3, the vanish point slides and one of the rides you need a tube with were all closed! Which left only like 4 water rides left open in the park. Then because there were just a few rides available the lines started to get extremely long because there were not many options .

Same goes for the food lines and choices. There were not many options for food as many of the smaller places were closed. The workers seemed to be getting frustrated as well. There was a mom there with three toddlers and a baby waiting for them to call her ticket number to pick up her order. She waited and waited and watched everyone after her get their food and no one was calling her number. She finally went up to the window and asked if there was a problem with her order because she had been waiting for a long time and all the worker said was I don’t know. Then she said can you find out and again he just said I don’t know. At this point the mon became very frustrated. Then finally the guy asked for someone to attend to the women. I was there for all of that. My kids and I got our food and the women was still standing there waiting.
If they are not going to be effective in running the food stands and have more places available the least they can do is allow people to bring in snacks and drinks.

It just seems like poor management and the park not being able to be ready. They just opened and it seems like they are very unprepared .
We left at 1:00 because at this point there was nothing else that we could do except the wave pool.
Again we can come back because we have a fun pass and hope that next time more rides are open and that they are better prepared for customers, but it would definitely not be worth a one day ticket.

My daughter and her nine and three year old boys visited the park yesterday. More than half, maybe 75%, of the rides were open with long lines for Colossal Curl and Solar Votex. Unfortunately, Runaway Rapids, the three smaller slides and Splash Attack, the large playground with obstacle courses and slides were closed. This meant almost nothing to do for kids under 40 inches tall, including my three year old grandson. We pretty much hung out with him at the small kiddie splash ground and he did the lazy river a few times. Paying full price for the three year old is kind of a rip-off. However, we made the best of it and the nine year old did a lot of rides alternating between going with me and my daughter so it was still a fun day.

It’s an overall solid water park and a nice atmosphere. I live near Orlando and have a pass to their sister park Aquatica but enjoy making the trip out here once in a while just for a change of scenery.

It's an older park but they've done a good job keeping it fresh with new rides lately. Just not a fan of the new rule where you HAVE to be in a tube in the lazy river. Also during my most recent visit the wave pool wasn’t working the entire day. Things happen but it didn’t seem like anyone was trying to fix it, they just kept announcing no waves for the day. A little effort to get it fixed would’ve been nice. That’s usually where I spend much of my time and drove over an hour to get there so that was a bummer. Hopefully just a one time thing.

Unlike the previous reviewer I've always been allowed to bring in a bunch of bottled water so that's weird they didn't let him. It's stated on their website you're allowed to. There's also water fountains located throughout the park. Might just be best to keep a cooler in the car or at the picnic tables outside the entrance and have lunch there if you go on a busier day for now until more staff are hired to speed lines up.

The park requires advanced ticket purchases and a reservation to enter the park. When we arrived at the park there was a line outside to get in, that was 2-3 hours long. There was no explanation for the line and it was weaved throughout the parking lot with moving cars and children running everywhere. We could see from the line that some of the slides were under construction and not running. After waiting for a bit and not moving We made the decision to leave.

There was absolutely nothing positive about this day. A total rip off! The place is DIRTY. Maintenance is terrible. Lifeguards don’t actually say anything to anyone. My son scraped his leg and was bleeding, lifeguard didn’t even have a band-aid. The slides are okay… but definitely not worth the wait, nobody controls lines and queues so people are rudely cutting into lines. The “lazy river” is just flowing water with people either floating or walking through because they can’t get a tube. There are no systems to keep people “fresh” as they are waiting in the “too long” lines. The walkways are scorching hot…it was just terrible, so disappointed…!

Oh my I love this place not as big as the Disney ones but worth it and enjoyable, plenty seating lockers available for around $25.00/day sized to fit you personals like phones, purses/wallets, keys maybe a towel or two. But I have left my bag with my towels and shoes and sunscreen out on the chairs and haven't had no issues. Two kids area one in the front ,one in the back. You have to have a tube in the lazy river otherwise if they are all taken you can walk it. All littles have to have on life vest for all rides and pools. Great way to spend a hot Florida day just remember the sun can give you cancer so sunscreen every 2/3 hours and keep hydrated.

Don’t waste your money. Several rides are closed creating long 1 hour plus wait times. Not enough lounge chairs umbrellas or shade. People fighting for inner tubes to use the lazy river. Do not get all day dining pass you will be waiting more than 1 hour in line to use it. Locker rental fees are $20 for small locker and $25 for a large! Only way to enjoy park is to upgrade to skip the lines pass, and rent cabana or chairs and tiki umbrella. $10 for a beer to prevent excessive drinking however means responsible adults have to overpay. This is an old water park for locals to take their kids for the summer on Florida resident passes, or pay one day play all year ticket. Save your money go to Orlando for a true water park experience.

So rented a cabana on a Sunday. $209 with passholder discount and some ridiculous $11.99 service fee.. sigh. When we arrived asked if we could have an additional lounger as more than 2 people will want to relax... nope can't do it.... so for $209 we get a little shade and a dirty table with chairs and 2 loungers. Definitely not the service we're used to from the other parks. Guess I can't say much since it is BG/SW family and it's always a disaster. Won't waste my $209 again here . Lesson learned.

Took my party of 12 there May 25th. All but the twist slide was open all day. Rented 2 cabanas and everything went well. The lines were not long so glad I did not buy the rapid passes. Rapid passes only work here if the park is packed.

We carried our 2 children to Adventure Island in Tampa July 2005. This was one of the worst water parks we have been to. First of all, we got there early and it was extremly crowded. There was not enough chairs. Most people we talked with did not have a chair either. The lines were very long so most of our time was spent standing in them. The park is all stamped concrete, which is very pretty but VERY slick!! I slid down 3 times. It also burns your feet while waiting in line. Some of the rides require a tube to ride, there was not enough tubes so we had to stand in line to get a tube and then stand in line for the ride. One ride we could have a single or double tube and my daughter wanted to ride with me. We waited for a double tube for over 30 minutes and then gave up. The staff at the food stands were very rude.(three different stands) The lifeguards we came into contact with were not too friendly either. On the plus side the park is pretty & clean. If you do try it make sure to carry some shoes that you can keep on while riding and don't except to find a chair.
