Overview
More
Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is home to more than 1300 animals and famous for having one of the most beautiful, tropical zoological settings in the world. The Zoo brings together animals and visitors to create unforgettable, natural connections. Guests get closer to wildlife than ever before by touching a giant tortoise, feeding a giraffe, getting nose-to-horn with an Indian rhino, hand-to-fin with slippery stingrays and more! Families can also splash in water play areas, feel thrills on rides and take in educational shows. Love manatees? The Zoo is the only place in Tampa where guests can see Florida manatees year round. At the David A. Straz Jr. Manatee Hospital, the Zoo’s veterinary and animal-care staff treat sick, injured and orphaned manatees, and return them to the wild after rehabilitation. The Zoo also cares for the most diverse group of Florida wildlife anywhere, and has won numerous awards for animal preservation.

This place is pricey other than that its a zoo. It is clean and its nice but pricey! If your an animal person, I found Horse Power for Kids to be a way better deal! Though they have a variety of animals not as many...More

Thank you for sharing your observations about the Zoo, a nonprofit conservation center. The Zoo prides itself on providing great value with the new “pay for a day, return through 2016 free” ticket option. With 1,300 animals on 60 acres of natural habitats, splash grounds,...More

We absolutely LOVE this zoo! It's the perfect size for little kids - you can pretty much see everything without the kids becoming too exhausted. The animals' pens are well kept and the whole park is very clean. The splash pad/rides area is a wonderful...More

Enjoyed our recent visit of this zoo as a family. The animal exhibits all offered great views of the animals. The alligator water ride will get you absolutely soaked. Overall good value for the price and the offer a military discount.

Really enjoyed the zoo. The highlight was a hungry tiger roaring, never heard that before. Got a kick out of a big ape perched high above urinating and accidentally landing on an ape below. We all thought it was a water feature when it was...More

It was a day with my family. The zoo was busy. My kids and I enjoyed the zoo but we did not do any of the extras (water ride or safari ride) due to the long wait. I liked the set up of the zoo....More

Thank you for visiting the Zoo! Did you know that the Zoo currently offers a “pay for a day, come back through 2016” ticket for the price of a single day admission? It’s a great option for multiple visits for the price of one admission!...More

Love how interactive this zoo is from feeding the giraffe to touching a white rhino. There is a petting zoo and small attractions...was better than expected. The neighborhood getting to the zoo and around is not the greatest however inside the zoo is something else.

I would plan 4 hours and really enjoy as many of the scheduled shows as possible. Grab a bite to eat while there so hunger wont drive you away early. Parking is free & easy with a minor walk compared to other parks... More

In August 2017 we are bringing house guests to the Tampa Zoo for a one day visit. What are the attractions/areas of the zoo which would be on a "do not miss" list for a party of four adults? What restaurants would you recommend within the zoo which our guests, who are native Parisians, would enjoy?
