Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,300 amazing animals on 56 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and cafes.

Many animals were not in their place. Little to see. The best part was the African part og the zoo and the children's part. Rest was not much to see. Go early this takes time. Diffucult to drive å weelchair around there.

What a great zoo. Strong on natural habitats & conservation. We were here for a business meeting in the Africa area. Great to take a break and see giraffes, elephants & zebras. They have a great ambassador program with the animals. Great for kids of all ages. Take the train ride - it goes behind the Africa area. Very interesting... More

The zoo is always a good time for the kids. I would recommend going early. We went around 2 and didn't get to feed any of the animals because they were all full already. Lots of walking, so be mindful of that. Splash area near the entrance/exit. Prices seen a bit steep to me. Fortunately, we have a MOSI membership... More

My wife and I love taking our 3 and 5 year olds to zoos and we've been to quite a few and this one was great. Facility was clean and well laid out. Our boys loved the carnival ride area and it was an added bonus that they were included in the admission price! We had lunch in a big... More

This is one of the nicest zoos I have been to. They have all sorts of animal shows and exhibits. for the young ones they have a petting zoo and animal rides. Make sure you get they early, it fills up very quickly and parking is sometimes hard to find without a little bit of a walk. Adults and kids... More

Been here twice in the past 8 months. This zoo is such a disappointment. The animals are nearly invisible. They are usually dormant which I understand bc it's very hot in florida so they hide or cuddle up with each other. There is not much access and I find the viewing of the animals to be distant. I feel bad... More

We visited on a hot August Monday (8/29 to be exact). The zoo was pretty much empty, which was to our advantage. We did not purchase any food here but the prices posted showed moderate to the expensive prices. Pros: The zoo is mainly clean, the variety of animals here are great from the typical zebras, monkeys to more exotic... More

It was my first trip to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely it was laid out. I really liked the center rotunda with the paths leading out and around the different exhibits and bringing you back out to the center. It is definitely a family friendly environment and we had a great time. I have... More

I have been living in Tampa for about 9 years. Not sure why I never visited this zoo that was so close to me? I guess I had a preconceived expectation that it would not be very good especially after going to the Disney zoo and being extremely disappointed. . My husband and I had our grandaughter over and decided... More
