Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,300 amazing animals on 56 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and cafes.

I remember going to Lowry Park Zoo since I was a child, it was fun then its way better now. The zoo has expanded rapidly in the last decade, new areas, new themes, and more animals. They even added a few rides. Lowry Park Zoo is a great place for families to spend a day watching and learning about animals... More

I just love tapirs. This zoological park has a baby one. And orangutans, very important to have orangutans. The park is well laid out for the most part, with the displays being loops. The African section is not a loop and also does not feature lions, which is a disappointment to my lion-obsessed wife. We have yet to attend any... More

The zoo itself is wonderful; all of the talks are interesting and the staff so knowledgeable. The biggest insult to anyone, and I can't imagine what families would do, is the cost of drinks! The $4 cup of ice with a couple of ounces of tea, (no wonder a woman wanted to sue Starbucks!) is outrageous! And where else can... More

We visited on a quiet Sunday morning. The Macaws flying around was very cool. We saw all the babies! Baby chimps, orangutans, elephants, rhinos. Also saw all the wonderful animal/keeper interactions at feeding time. It was great! The sting ray feeding was really neat. The safari tram was very neat and we enjoyed seeing that side of the park. Beautiful,... More

I haven't been to the zoo in a long time so when they have a special entrance fee I went with my best friend. I was excited even though the masses of folks were all around, including a herd of large strollers. Taking an adventure through the different continents that were designated for the respective animal residents was a delight.... More

Drove 2+ hours to take my son for his 3rd birthday. We got there when the zoo first opened and I realize it was a Monday but several areas & vendors in the zoo were closed. We took my son to the petting zoo area and both of the feeding machines were out of order. The young lady standing nearby... More

This zoo has to be one of the best in the country! I would rate it higher than the Memphis zoo which we visited earlier this year. There are so many great exhibits, there are free kiddie fair type rides, and there is even a tram safari. We spent about 3 hours here and could have made it a whole... More

I am a zoo person. Every city I visit, I go to their zoo. Was very happy to pull in and not have to pay for parking. The entrance was inviting, and once through the gates I found a clean, open environment. Headed toward the birds of prey show where Jess did a very entertaining show. The animal environments on... My family of five with three teenagers visited Lowry Park Zoo Thanksgiving week. Our intention was to spend the morning at the zoo to enjoy the perfect zoo weather and some family time and then hit the beach in the afternoon. But we loved the zoo so much that by unanimous vote we ended up staying the entire day! It's... More
