In Tampa for business and looking for an evenings outing. Ybor City provided a fantastic Cuban meal with a choice of restaurants .We enjoyed strolling the neighborhood after dinner. The cultural experience of Cuba without a passport.

This historic district is full of clubs, great for a night out with your friends. Tons of restaurants and in some parts a little sketchy. Don't think there is anything else to see during daylight. Overall good for partying..nothing else.

I haven't lived in Tampa for 5 years and kind of forgot what exactly was in Ybor City – not much besides bars and a few restaurants. You'll also find old architecture, cobbled streets and wild chickens. For some reason I thought there were shops, but not really. I brought guests here after we’d eaten so it was kind of... More

Unless you were going to drink, you could skip this stop. I really didn't find much to do with children. I did see a movie theater, but we weren't looking for a movie. I had 3 young children while the parents went to have a beer in the beer garden, but there was nothing for them and there were some... More

My husband and I visited Ybor City during the week in the afternoon since we heard things get a little sketchy at night. We mainly visited to see Tampa Brewing (which was great, terrific beers and atmosphere). Other than that, found it to be dirty a lot of people begging for money, and just depressing.

The tourist guides and brochures make Ybor City sound spectacular but all we saw were run down buildings, bars & tattoo parlors! We did stop into the "Visitors Center" and got a bit of history watching a 7 minute video of the past. Guess times were better years ago....maybe the night life is a better time to go but we... With its cobblestone streets and crowing roosters, Ybor City resembles stepping back in a past era. What was once packed with cigar manufacturers and immigrants is now full of restaurants, shops, bars and local fun. Take time to spend an evening in Ybor City.

It you read all the tourist books they will tell you that you must go and see the history at Ybor City. It may had been nice it its day, but it is nothing to see but pot pipe shops and out of date T shirts for sale. One store was selling formaldehyde, caskets and rodent in bottles of solutions...
