The park is full of homeless people...I've never seen so many in one location and I've been to Atlanta, Denver, and NYC!

The word is out.. This park is now the homeless capital of Tampa. Every bench occupied by squatters, shopping carts and all. I observed several of the new residents responding to unseen stimuli. Police station right across the street and I still would not feel safe spending any amount of time here. To bad cause it's really a beautiful park in a great location.

FYI schizophrenics on the street are NOT harmless. Feed them all you want but eventually one WILL bite you.

There are a lot of homeless people that come to this park for its safer being near the police station.

My husband and I have brought some meals, bottle water and coffee to the homeless and had some nice conversations with the men. ( there are a lot of homeless women also but on this visit we only met men ).

None of them were threatening or asking us for anything. They were very appreciative.
For any groups-churches that may be looking for a place to help.

This is a nice little park in downtown Tampa.
Lots of benches and shade trees @ this location.

I would have posted pics but didn't want to make the homeless that were here feel awkward.

This is a nice park to relax in or bring your lunch, a square block of shade amongst the business and tall buildings in the area.

I wanted to eat outside as much as possible since I was in a multi-day conference at a local hotel. Each day I'd grab some food from one of the local shops and head to the park. There were plenty of benches, some shaded and some in the sun. The park is very clean and has nice landscaping. Plenty of trash cans and even recycling containers. Night time seemed to be a place for some of the homeless to congregate but they kept to themselves and didn't panhandle.
