Never thought we would begin fishing in freshwater again. Our last fishing was in our boat out of St Marks for Grouper. Bag limits, gas cost and fees at the Marina led us to sell the boat. We recently found High Bluff on Lake Talquin and while we have not caught anything yet(learning curve for fresh water fish and gear)the pier here is great. We have also tried a number of the other landings. Many have facilities and with this cooler weather i expect things to pick up.…

Drove down Geddie Road from SR90 and we never found an entrance sign! Need better signage for visitors to the area.

Lake Talquin has so much to offer. The Fishing Pier and picnic grounds at the state forest are nice.

This state forest has lots to do - there are great picnic areas and fishing spots as well. Lots of places to go hiking and enjoy the local wild life etc. We spend many relaxing afternoons here and we really enjoy it. You do not find it over crowded - in fact you can walk for hours without seeing anyone.…

Whenever we find time as locals this is where we go for free pleasure and entertainment like fishing, picnicking, walking, or just simply parking and strolling to enjoy the view and the atmosphere. I did not rate a perfect rating because some spots have people throwing garbage into the lake or the marshes. I don't know how to remedy that but maybe adding more Trash Bins would help, or extracting FINES would help. …
