My 8-year-old son and I visited the Maclay Gardens State Park to break up a long drive home because Mom was getting sleepy and road weary. We visited the boat ramp and the playground, and then headed over to the gardens for an afternoon stroll. The gardens are absolutely lovely and serene. We walked and took pictures and explored the... This park had a couple of sections. One area had picnic tables, a swimming area, a boat launch, and a dock where a kayak, paddle board or canoe could be put in the water. This area also had signs warning that alligators could be present. I would definitely want to know how they keep them out of the swimming area.... More

My husband and I just went here on 11/16 and enjoyed ourselfs so much! This is a lovely park, right in the north part of Tallahassee. It has two beautiful lakes, we saw one that was for for recreation, and a long brick walkway throughout another section of the park to walk and see all of the nature of this... More

Good place for an afternoon stroll. Beautiful gardens, brick pathways and one of the most breathtaking views I can imagine over the lake. I have filmed several weddings at this location, it is that good.

A mile from my home and I buy an annual pass. There is a large picnic area with many tables and facilities by a big lake. Down the road is the crown jewel of the park. The cottage and expensive gardens of Alfred McClay. Spectacular planting with ponds, fountains and well maintained trails. The cottage is worth a visit while... More

We spent a pleasant two hours walking in these gardens which were well laid out, and I would imagine at other times of the year would be even more beautiful. There had been a scarecrow competition and it was great fun to view the exhibits.

The park was nice it was hard to find the trails that would lead you to the reflecting pool and stuff like that. They were putting up figurines that were really pretty. Overall one of the nicest places that we saw on our adventure.

We visited this state park on a Saturday while in town meeting family. It was gorgeous- the grounds were beautiful and I imagine when the flowers are in bloom it is breathtaking. The view from one of the gazebos overlooking Lake Hall is so peaceful and beautiful. The trees hanging over the walkway are reminiscent of Old Florida. There was... More

Another beautiful Florida State Park. Slowly wander through this botanical paradise, surrounded by exotic flowers. Stumble across bridges, fountains, and lakes in a park reminiscent of a palace garden that is being overtaken again by wilderness. Great location for weddings, bridal and engagement photo shoots, romantic picnics, and family outings. Bring mosquito repellant though - this is Florida after all.... More
