This beautiful state park is located close to shopping and restaurants, but once inside, you feel the quiet beauty of nature all around you. The first section of the park contains a picnic area, a playground, bathroom facilities, covered pavilion, and a small beach along the shore of Lake Hall. The lake is great for canoeing and kayaking. At the... More

We went here a few months back to have a fun walk for mothers day. The gardens will take your breath away!! Such lush greens, and pretty flowers. Right on the lake, the estate will just make you want to take it all in. My favorite part were the old brick roads trailing all through the park. Loved it and... More

I live in Tallahassee and purchase a pass annually for this and other state parks. It rivals Japanese gardens in big cities, but it features mostly local plants and is more eclectic. There are paved brick roads and trails. The feature plants which grow very well in our climate are Japanese in origin, the camellia Japanica, azaleas and Japanese maples.... More

Nice park to get a walk in. Trails well kept & easy to follow paths. Clean restrooms. Lake looked nice too but only drove by ramp.

This was my top favorite thing I did while in Tallahassee. It is handicap/stroller friendly. Maclay Gardens is a portion of the State Park and you will have to pay a small fee to enter the park. I think it was around $6. You will be able to drive from the park entrance all the way to the entrance to... More

We walked the park and the gardens. The pathways were clear but not overly manicured. It seemed to speak of years gone by...

Maclay Gardens is a wonderful place to just stroll around. The grounds are well cared for. When flowers are in bloom it is a joy to see. When not in bioom the plants themselves are beautiful. Bring a be camera if you enjoy photography.

My 3 young kids and I visited this park in June 2015. The park rangers were so kind! My kids participated in the Junior Ranger Program and received passports here (unique and not available at every state park). They really enjoyed completing the activities and receiving their Junior Ranger honors. The park here is beautiful with plenty of shade, too,... More

This is a wonderful park! Make sure you going in the spring when all of the flowers begin to bloom. A ton of folks out there taking family pictures. There is also a lake if you like to canoe or kayak.

Enjoyed a visit here with my fiancee and daughter many months ago. It was my first time to the gardens, and the lake and gardens are beautiful. My daughter and I canoed there once or twice at Lake Hall. Just as nice as any State Park can be, and highly recommended.
