The beach is very calm with little to no waves making it ideal for smaller children. There is also a playground on site in case the little ones get bored. The overall atmosphere is very relaxing. Also there is a nice little food shack on property that has decent food/snacks.

The place is pretty and clean. I liked that they have covered picnic tables so you can bring your own lunch or order at the restaurant. We went at low tide, we had no idea. My suggestion is to watch the tides because when its low tide the water doesn't get higher then your ankle !!! Its good for small... More

No swimming due to the cooler weather the day we were there, but my daughters from up north were happy to walk the beach and explore.

Found this beautiful beach when we moved down here and have been there several times now it has picnic tables in a covered area and a snack bar from drinks and snacks. The sand is lovely and golden. There is plenty of parking at a good low rate.

A few weeks ago, my daughter and I drove 1100+ miles from our home here in western Arkansas, to visit my sister in Hernando Beach. This was one of the places she highly recommended, and was she right! My daughter was thrilled to toss the shoes and get sand between her toes, look for seashells, and chase the seagulls. This... I live a short jaunt from Pine Island...it is one of my favorite places...I always make sure I take all our guest that visit Florida there...everyone loves it...awesome views...swimming fun...cook outs...entertainment sometimes and if your lucky you may see some dolphins swimming and playing right up next to you...sunsets are breathtaking ...I am never disappointed when I go.
