Very nice little beach

The only official beach in Hernando County for the Gulf of Mexico. Very nice but clean and with grills, playground type toys, pavilions and a snack shack. Must pay for parking. :(

This is a very good beach for children because the tide is very far out and the depth is only a couple of feet even when you go a long ways from shore. There are no crashing waves which means the little ones are much safer. There's a lot of seaweed though and hermit crabs!! Parking only costs $5.00 for... More

The water is warm and shallow for quite a ways out with a sandy bottom, great for little ones. We used a grill at one of the covered picnic benches. In addition to keeping the sun from scorching us, it kept us from getting drenched in the unexpected short but torrential rain storm. People of all ages were here. Willy's... More

We arrived early on a weekday and the place was deserted. And there were quite a few palm trees and pavilions with picnic benches if you want some shade. It was low tide when we went, so the swimming wasn't great, no deeper than a bath. But there lot of fish and I saw a bonnethead shark (small) so that... More

NO undertow, NO big waves, Nice sandy bottom and very shallow, even at high tide. I love this place for little kids to enjoy the beach and water. The county might of planned the sea wall, a bit better. Willy's is great for a drink, snack or food. Go enjoy the beautiful sunset!!!

We very much enjoyed this quiet beach. Plenty of space to lay out a towel and soak up some sun. Picnic areas were clean. Spectacular views of the gulf.

My son, daughter and grand-daughter went to the beach here on 05/31/2016. The beach and the water were amazing. Finding a parking spot however, was a nightmare. We drove around the parking lot for about 15 minutes and then decided we would try our luck at parking on the street. Little did we know, there are NO streets here. One... More

Small white sand beach perfect for young children. Since the water is so shallow in the area, families with small children will love the location without having to travel to beaches farther away. The sunset view also make the park inviting to older visitors as well.

Stopped by Pine Island to take pictures of the sunset as it had been raining previously. The tide was out so we were able to walk quite a ways out. The beach looks kinda small and I was told fills up fast on sunny days. Not a lot of parking but they do have a small snack bar.
