I don't know if any of Miami Beaches' colorful characters drove to the elite island residences along this historic causeway, but it's fun to think they did.. and sure SOME must have!! The Causeway is low to the water and connects a series of small residential islands, some of which are gated. (On a different day, take one of the water tours from downtown Miami and see these residences up close from the water side..very worh it). Anyway, the Causeway has been present for quite a while its elegant architecture and palm trees should be visited at least once. It is the best connector from the mainland if you are aiming for the northern part of Miami Beach and drops you off right at Lincoln Road. A bit narrower, though, than other bridges but, generally, less heavily used.

Early morning jog from Miami Beach to toll booth and back! Skate or ride your bike. It's a great trail. The tolls are expensive so there won't be as much vehicular traffic as in other roads in Dade County. You'll enjoy the views and diversified architecture.

This very old bridge takes you from Miami to Miami Beach. It has nice architecture features but , not exactly world class.
