A first rate animal care shelter
Dec 2019
Not a zoo and not an entertainment. These folks really care for animals and give unwanted exotic animals a pleasant home to live out their days. Big cats, bears, apes and monkeys, you name it and they are provided with care and a home. Contact the management for info about a tour or making an always-needed donation. Volunteer help is also appreciated.

Wonderful rescue

Lucky to find this place, they don’t advertise a lot. If you like touring honest wildlife sanctuaries then you will love this place. If you are looking for an animal encounter or really want to see the animals close up this might not be your place.
You will see large cats and bears in large enclosures. I mean large. So you can’t make them wait at the fence for you. You will see most of them, monkeys, big cats, bears, wolf, even a donkey. The bats are wonderful and you can see these up close in a very nice cage, unlike in the zoos and other attractions.
This is a legitimate rescue, not an attraction and with funding they have a lot of potential due to the location so please support this rescue.

Enjoyed our visit here

My family was in the Silver Springs area and were looking for things to do. I found that this animal rescue gives tours twice a month. When I saw that they have tigers, I booked a tour. The tours were $50 each. This place is WAY off the beaten path. You have to drive a long way down a narrow dirt road, so be prepared. When we got there we joined the other couple taking a tour and got in a Land Rover. The owner drove us around the property and showed us the animals and told us the story of the property. Much of the rescue is still under development, but they do have some amazing animals. They also know each animal by name and history. The tour took about 90 minutes. Don't expect close encounters... you never leave the vehicle, but it is still amazing to get so close to some of these beautiful animals.
