We have been spending winters on Siesta Key for past 20 years and have seen the explosion of growth and traffic on the key. Months of March and April are awful for traffic and is getting worse. If you are a beach person be aware there are breezes and some gusts up to 20-30 mph almost every day during the months of January-April. The increase on rental prices also have exploded plus you pay 12.5% tax on top of the rent and this is soon to go up to 13.5%.

Great option for travelers, rates are reasonable for rentals and they are setup in advance to secure the best spots on the beach. Tyler was very helpful helping us checkout the perfect spot and checked on us and made sure our umbrella was secure throughout our stay at the beach. We’ll be back for sure!

Over Rated very small amount sculptures. Around 12 sculptures that are being worked on day 2. We've been to many sand sculptures contest around the country, they are usually free. Siesta key charges 8 - 10 per person. Parking is impossible had to pay a 15 dollar donation to a local church. Not worth it

Aug 2021 The Red Tide leaves this beach practically inhabitable. Young children, adults and elderly eyes burning, gaging and coughing over the dead fish floating and on the shores. People wearing masks on the beach and not because Covid is raging here because of the respiratory distress. Nearby beaches are the same or worse. It’s sickening to see these usually beautiful beaches look like sea life cemeteries. Be forewarned check the conditions before coming.

Week of July 23 through Aug 1 this beach has Red Tide, dead fish and smell and you will be coughing. In the general area they have cleaned up tons and tons of dead fish, warnings to vacationers is passive and restaurants along the coast seem to ignore it and think dining with this stink and coughing is acceptable. The Red Tide began in Tampa, tons of dead fish, moved South and this past weekend Venice Beach, Englewood Beach, Manasota Key were awful. Avoid this area and be very questioning of information from hotels and restaurants as they are generally not accurate. Check out several governmental web sites before deciding to vacation in this area (throughout the summer). This issue is simply not seriously addressed by the State which continues to permit fertilizers and other trash to be placed in the Gulf. Final comment, the beach is great the water can smell and is rarely clear,

I was not sure what to expect if this beach but I was happy with my time here. I arrived about 8AM & there was still plenty of parking. I got a spot on the first row and headed up to beach. It was about half a mile walk before I found a spot close to water and set up shop. The wind was high today and weather was in 50’s. Needless to say no one was actually in water at that time however many were getting feet and legs wet walking along the sand. As time passed the crowd grew and grew. The weather warmed up and the wind calmed down. There were a pod of dolphins that kept coming close to shore where we could see them. This was so amazing to me as I’ve traveled plenty on different waterways and Never seen dolphins in the ocean. It warmed my heart. That was the highlight of my trip.
Another thing I appreciated was the presence of law enforcement. They were out and patrolling discreetly. Not one person approached me about buying their trinkets or anything else. I felt safe and felt secure to leave my items unattended while I waded in water. I enjoyed myself on this beach and would definitely come back to enjoy. The water isn’t clear as in the Caribbean however other things I’ve mentioned make this a great spot to swim and have beach time. Super soft cool sand with a chill vibe.

We visited Siesta beach in April, my kids loved this beach. The sand was soft and the water was clear. There was a big parking lot with free parking! There was also a restaurant, restrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. When we were done at the beach my kids enjoyed playing on the shaded playground.

There are a lot of reasons why Siesta Key Beach is on the radar of so many publications as one of the best beaches in the USA. The powdery sand, clear waters, long stretches of comfortable sand to walk on without stepping on shells and the overall quaint location, truly make this a beach to want to visit. Word of caution, however, parking is a premium and if you plan on making a visit in the early afternoon - good luck finding parking. We arrived early enough to get a prime (FREE) parking spot, only to see so many people driving around later in the day trying to find an empty spot.

We were a bit disappointed as no one was renting chairs or umbrellas, to be told by the concession staff that this is only done on weekends due to so many people not wanting to work. Must be nice!

We're from WI and obviously didn't have chairs or an umbrella for the beach. I was so happy to see some for rent at a combo price of $50 2 chairs and an umbrella. The staff Julian and Tyler answered all our questions and walked us to the perfect set up. They set up the umbrella and throughout the day made any adjustments we needed. At the end of the day the umbrella and chairs were picked up. It's nice to go on vacation and not have to worry about one more thing. We will definitely be using their services annually hopefully they add beach towels to their services too 😀
