About
As the name suggests, Siesta Beach is a great spot for a lazy and relaxing day in the sun. Lay on its cool, white, and powdery sand, or take a dip in the crystal clear waters. The kids will love collecting the beautifully shaped shells, too. And don't about the kids—there are lifeguards on duty. While there aren't many beachside food options, you can head to the nearby cafes and oyster bars.
Get a beachfront condo to make the most of your stay, or visit for the awesome sunset views on an e-bike tour of Siesta Key. There's even a Siesta Beach drum circle on some days.

We had a fantastic beach day @ Siesta Beach. We're actually staying in Tampa for vacay but drove down to experience America's #1 beach. Shout out to Boucher Bros. beach rentals for their excellent service as we didn't have any chairs/umbrella (right on the beach). If you are in Orlando or Tampa and want a really pretty beach to lounge around at, Siesta is the spot!

This beach has the softest sand of any beach in the world and we have covered a lot of the world. The beach is hundreds of yards wide and 3 miles long. If you like shells there are lots of them either direction from the public beach. Surf is variable from none at all to some waves that people surf, but it is not a surfing beach. The concessions are good and pretty efficient. During peak spring break times the parking lot will fill up before noon. A great place to watch sunsets.

Rafael and Edward were super friendly and helped set me up with a cabana. If you're not from FL and aren't used to the sun down here, you definitely need shade. Worth every penny to not get a sunburn. Highly recommend renting from Boucher Brothers.

I personally prefer this beach of Clearwater. It is smaller, quieter, and less chaotic. We brought our own chairs and had our pick of where to sit up and down the entirety of the beach. You REALLY need to pay attention to the weather for Red Tide reports. Even moderate Red Tide is enough to get you coughing and miserable. We heard many people mistaking the smell of dead fish of being the Red Tide. The Red Tide kills the fish. You're coughing from the Red Tide when the winds blow off the Gulf. Watch for winds blowing off-shore for the ideal conditions.
The Red Tide is all up and down the SunCoast. Pick your days and locations carefully. If you're looking for tons of bars and restaurants and crowds...go to Clearwater. If you're looking for nice beach to spend a peaceful day ( you're mileage may vary during Spring Break) then check out Siesta Key Beach.

All the lodging was over priced & hard 2 come by. The seafood restaurants were good & reasonable. Gas prices for the affordable car rental were great.

We are a family with 2 kids ages 6 and 9 travelling from London. We are planning 6 nights in Disney world and 4 nights around Siesta beach. Any thoughts on the itinerary please? Anything you would suggest?

Rent a boat at a Marina for a half a day or full day it is very easy to navigate the boat the kids will LOVE it, its near captain Curts restaurant, also if you want to try a great Rum its called Siesta Key Rum, its made in Siesta Key and you can do a quick tour of it and try some samples its located about 15 mins north of Siesta keys also you can use the free trolly during the day at night they have a shuttle van that you pay for you tip the driver as you're getting out, its cheap and easy to get around, the beach is 99% quartz which means its a beautiful white sand that never gets hot which means you can walk bare footed on the beach and your feet will NOT get hot Sunday evening before sundown on the local beach they have a bunch of people that get together and play the drums definitely worth checking out it sounds really cool and its right on the beach and its a beautiful sun set and its free

Like others have stated, there are signs along the street letting you know that the Trolley stops there. You may have to wait a little bit. It is the best way to get around especially in the crowded areas.

Hi, so sorry I don't know the answer since we walked or took the free / or "give a tip" shuttle everywhere. Down town there seemed to be lots of parking in stores fronts / restaurants and there is a big lot near the public beach. I'm not sure if it is free or not.
