We visited during their 3rd Friday Art Walk. We found free parking on the street. We were probably only there for about 20 minutes. There were about 15 - 20 artists displaying their artwork. There was also a gentleman playing the guitar and singing. It is a nice setting with a variety of trees. I had hoped it would be a little bigger.

Thank you! We are so glad you attended and hope to see you again. Due to COVID 19 we had to scale back just a bit on our usual methods of presenting the art and artists. We hope to make it a more celebratory event with future art walks, as in the past seasons.

I've been to many Open Studios and the quality of the art here is top-notch. Nearly all the artists were in attendance, and although there are not that many of them, each one's work is of high quality. If we lived here we would likely have bought several pieces at some point. We talked to several of the artists and enjoyed that very much. There was also a small cafe that was open on the premises and we would have gotten a drink or dinner there if we didn't have other plans.

I love this place, and take all my visiting women friends there for lunch. It's a unique treasure tucked away in a cosy garden courtyard in Towle's Court. The owner is interesting and lovely, and the few unique gifts for sale are charming. The food is special, and there is nothing like it anywhere else I've been. I highly recommend it.

We have enjoyed this area a few times and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. If you can visit during their open studios events that would even be more enjoyable. There are a few restaurants to enjoy while there and our favorite is The Bodhi Tree Cafe

A friendly low key set of galleries and shops and artist studios and eateries. We were not able to stay as long as we wanted but would go back. It is always nice to have the opportunity to talk with artists about their work and see a wide variety of art and craft in one fell swoop!

Two guide books recommended it but it's just craft shops along an alleyway. It's also not easy to find. We saw one other couple there and it was early afternoon. The restaurants looked closed up so call ahead if you plan to eat there.

So sorry that you were disappointed! We hope you will give us another chance sometime- especially after the opening of the "Bodhi Tree Cafe" (1938 Adams Lane)

The Towles Court Art District is an area of a few square blocks located west of Route 41 (Tamiami Trail) between Golf Street and Morrill Street in Sarasota, Florida. It is a community that caters to artists. There are many shops, galleries and studios open from Tuesday through Saturday but it is best to call individual businesses before visiting. There are working art studios, artist-run galleries for paintings and sculpture, educational programs, hair and skin care, financial and internet services and delightful open-air restaurants. Art walks are available on the third Friday of every month. It is an interesting community that seems to be evolving and transforming and changing every time you visit. What is most interesting is to visit when resident artists are working on their craft, either painting or sculpting or drawing or carving or working with ceramics. The restaurant is a hidden gem, hardly publicized at all. But you can get an excellent lunch while taking a break from walking through the exhibitions. The problem is you never know, from day to day, how many artists will be on hand and how active the community will be. We visited on one day when there was virtually no activity at all. But if you show up at a time when several artists are working, it can be a wonderful and enlightening and very educational experience.

It must be how Florida one was. A nice picturesque place worth visiting. There a are a few restaurants, nice little shops, beautiful little "european like" gardens, and a lot of small art galleries.
It seems to have specific days and dates it is more lively than others, but I was lucky. Everything was open to the public and various musicians were performing.
Go there at night, but be sure to check the best dates or days of the week, as the activity seems to vary.
