Beautiful quiet sunsets have been replaced, at Siesta Key, by crowds, traffic and people frantic for a collective contact high. Go to Lido or somewhere quiet and watch. Or go here fight for a spot and then fight to get out of the parking lot...More

In 1996 people began gathering on the beach during an equinox...then they came every full moon...and eventually it morphed into a gathering happening every Sunday. If you arrive on the main public beach on Sundays an hour before sunset, you can follow the sounds of...More

Bring your lawn chair, maybe a snack and/or a discreet adult beverage, enjoy the rhythmic beat of multiple drummers who just show up, the regular cast of exotic characters and regular folks who just dance whimsically within the circle. Watch the sunset, just sit back,...More

Went to the drum circle not really knowing what to expect. Turns out it is fairly large, maybe 200 people, with the Drummers on one side and the sunset behind. A bunch of locals add significant color, dancing, stomping, and hoola hooping in the center....More

It was very, very enjoyable. The drummers were excellent! The would pick a rythm and all play together. I wanted to play with them so much, but I flew down from Upstate New York and couldn't carry my Bodhran (Irish drum) on the plane with...More

I was introduced to this unique event by my in-laws 6 years ago and go every time we are in the area. Always a great way to watch the sunset over the ocean. You just seat and listen or join in the fun.

We had read about the Siesta Key Drum Circle and are so glad we took the time to do it. It happens every Sunday night when the sun goes down which in our case was 630pm. The drummers are fantastic. The night starts up pretty...More

The drum circle is every Sunday at Siesta Public Beach. It starts around 5-5:30pm and ends well after sunset, usually around 9pm. Don't miss it if that's your kind of thing. Lots of interesting people, coolers of beer, and fun in general. Hope this answers your questions.
