This was a nice little park. Would be good for a picnic, there was plenty of shade and modern restrooms but nothing out of the ordinary. We took a stroll along the beach which was easy to walk on.

I love South Lido Park, but this year (we come the first week of December every year) because of the red tide and beach erosion, it was so sad. Very little wildlife except for the turkey vultures picking the dead fish carcasses on the beach...More

We went to multiple beaches for the sunset and this was my favorite. Beautiful views and a lovely setting. Would have loved to have more time to explore the rest of the park as the location is beautiful. Oh well, will just have to go...More

We stayed on Lido and went to the park one evening to take pictures of the sunset. Very nice views of the surrounding bodies of water and you can see Siesta Key. You cannot swim here because of the currents and the bugs in the...More

You can find a great picnic area, sit in the sand and sun and relax for the afternoon on the bay with a short beach walk to where the gulf meets the bay or take a leisurely stroll along the nature path

Went there as a family for some fishing, then hiked the walking trail back to a beautiful little beach. Can be crowded sometimes so choose your time wisely. No admission cost, but also no swimming because of currents. Great little playground for the kids and...More

We went for a lovely breakfast at the beach. Paved parking close to beach made it accessible as did the picnic tables in the pines. Was ideal for a group. Some walked around the end of Lido Key, others puttered at this beach and those...More

This is the prettiest beach area. I love to come and watch the sunsets and bring a picnic and bottle of bubbly. No glass on the beach, so pour before in a beach friendly container.

We were unlucky to visit Sarasota on a week when the beaches were closed due to red tide. This was no-ones fault but we were frustrated that the Lido Key public swimming pool was closed during its advertised opening hours on Friday 17th August without...More

South Lido Park (2 Replies)
I will be visiting Sarasota in mid march and would like to spend a day kayaking in the mangroves. Heard about rentals at s. lido park. Any info would be much appreciated.
