…law enforcement would deal with the increasing vagrants and panhandlers. This market promenade is also within a larger downtown pedestrian street area consisting of wonderful and unique little shops, cafes, and restaurants. Sometimes there is outdoor live entertainment. Parking can be a problem and the increasing number of homeless and vagrants are so concerning, that you should make sure your car is properly locked and valuables stowed away. I was panhandled several times and in full view of law enforcement officers. The market itself is wonderful.

I have been going to the Sarasota market for many years and have enjoyed it but it has changed. It really has become too crowded especially with all the dogs. I think a reorganization of the market is due to come up with a solution of expanding it a few blocks over. Also the venders are very expensive compared to markets that i visited in Europe.
Time to organize it better and limit the dogs and get vendors in there that normal people can afford.

If you want to pay double for inferior products Sprouts is your store. 2.99 for a small salt shaker, double the price on produce and meat, no frozen veggies, no water, but they do have a huge gluten free section for more than twice the price of Publix. Very limited selection of almost all food products. This was not a good shopping experience.

As first time visitors to Sarasota, we enjoyed spending an hour at the farmers market on Saturday morning. The market was smaller than I anticipated but had several fun choices. There were less farm-to-table booths and more store-type booths with essential oils, jewelry and the like. On a beautiful day, it's a great place to enjoy the downtown. We went early and had no problem finding convenient parking.

What a great market! Lots of variety. Great local finds. On Main Street and easy to get to. Everything from breads to beans (coffee). Tasty guacamole made right in front of you! Double Decker coffee bus with Five-O doughnuts down the street.

Great setting. Great Food. This was our second time to the the market and were glad to see more vendors. Great place to pick up a cooked meal or all the necessary items to cook one at home. The vendors are super friendly. We love to sample, so we had all natural juice, shared a small fruit pie, tasted some cheese and Chimichurri . We left with some yummy empanadas, two jars of the Chimichurri, some jerky and two Bohemian Spring Puppets.

Even though it is open Fall to early June, ONLY, WEDNESDAY 9 AM - 1 PM, keep this new Farmers Market in your sights. It is a superb alternative to the Downtown Sarasota Market with ample parking, fun live entertainment and vendors you won't find downtown.
Check out the true organic produce form Geraldson Community Farm, Chicken Tractors with a few chickens on board to display how it works - often laying eggs in the sheltered tractor/home to show that the chicken tractors are a safe-haven for city chicken farmers, sometimes donuts are fried on site by Clayton's of Siesta Key and many other interesting surprises.

Some great stands of produce, meat, fish and art and crafts but Way Too Many dogs and doting owners.....Two dogs a person not uncommon, dogs in strollers, dogs in baskets, dogs in purses, doge in bosoms....Here dog there dog everywhere dog, dog...Do people mistake this for a park instead of an outdoor market? There are lots of appropriate places to take your dogs but please not here....Without the dogs a great place to come on a Saturday morning to shop and find breakfast.....Jim PEI, Canada

TripAdvisor mistakenly mentions that Sarasota Farmers Market is open daily, from 8:00AM–2:00PM. I arrived at 10:00 last Friday and was given correct information. Unfortunately, I left early Saturday and did not have time to experience this street market. Lemon and State streets are closed to vehicular traffic each Saturday morning. There are 70+ vendors. The market is mostly agricultural produce, but there are food vendors and artisan booths. My ranking of “average” is based on the incorrect information of being open daily. Management should correct this mistake on TripAdvisor so that visitors don’t try to find it on any day expect Saturday.

We were impressed with the variety of vendors and quality of the products they offered. There were almost a dozen produce vendors and one of the largest was organic. The seafood vendor had a waiting line! Folks can buy flowers, cookies, coffees, olives, cheeses and you name it. The market is pet friendly and had an acoustic guitarist adding to the relaxed vibe. Parking was easy.

Been to your wonderful area many times but never to the market. Are there any places to sit in this great looking market?

Limited seating is available. And I found that people are most gracious about sharing open seats at their table. (Most welcome to a New Yorker who is not used to such friendliness.)
