I was invited as a birthay present to a Sunday matineé from 2-4 PM in August. The place was packed! Looks like there are some 200 seats in all. There is a lovely bar that serves drinks and meals beside the lobby, so you might want to think of arriving early and chilling with a good drink or lunch/dinner. We... More

My husband and I went and found this theatre to be very reasonably priced and adequately clean. We enjoyed the theatre that we went twice while on vacation. There aren't too many movie theatres you can get beer and wine at the concession stand and that was surprising.

We got to see the God of Isaac play and the performance itself was absolutely wonderful, hysterical, well played, and extremely enjoyable. This theater is such a wonderful experience; it's beautiful, comfortable, every seat has a good view of the stage, the acoustics are perfect, and it is so professionally run. This is one of our favorite in use in... More

A delightful and insightful journey into what it is to be Jewish as seen through the eyes of a young man from Skokie IL in 1977. Well performed before a full house in the Gompertz theatre. A great cultural experience for this "goy".

Try to patronize FST when productions meet our schedule. Shows are uniformly well acted and good seating is easy to come by.

I love theater...this had a great cast, AC worked well, nice, quiet crowd, but those seats!! Specifically the room between rows! Is this a place built for circus midgets? The guy behind me kicked my seat every few minutes, and I couldn't be angry because I did the same thing to the person in front of me. Horrible. Worse than... More

We have been attending FST for years and it is by far the best theatre in town. Great intimate theatre spaces with wide variety of choices. They also have a phenomenal children's theatre program and summer camp. Highly recommend.

We visited this caberet style theatre whilst on vacation from the UK. As explained to me there are four or five separate stages in the complex, two of which had shows on during our visit. The venue has small, intimate and beautifully presented settings. We ate at our table imeadiately prior to the show (excellent service/food and reasonably priced) and... More

We made a last minute decision to see the Fabulous Lipitones show playing June 2016 at FST. It was opening night, and I didnt think the show was totally polished yet - a few stumbles here and there. A little surprising given they were professional actors and crew. But it was funny and entertaining, and the story was a good... More

We have been subscribers for over 10 years. One of the things that sold us on Sarasota was the arts and entertainment scene. We have seen some terrific theater here, some mediocre and some wretched, however, most has been pretty good. If something doesn't work it is certainly not the actors, though. The performers are always top notch. The interesting... More
