Our kayak tour with Biotica was nothing short of amazing!! We were looking for a fun but educational experience for our family (mom, dad and two kids age 7 and 14).This surpassed all of our expectations!

We called and booked, but could have easily used their website which is very user friendly. We spoke with Kris who booked our tour and then led our trip the very next day. She was so knowledgeable about the Florida eco system and left us all in awe. She was kind and made it fun for the adults and kids!

We did the beginners tour and loved it. You arrive, Kris greets you with a smile, you help load kayaks into the water and your off!! Super easy!

Kris even too the hospitality to the next level by sending me the pictures she took of our group and recommendations of springs throughout Florida that our family could visit!

If you are looking for a fun and interactive outdoor experience for the family I highly recommend Biotica Eco Tours.

What a wonderful day! It was not our first experience being guided by Kris on our kayaks. All the ventures we have had with Kris are wonderful.
She is so knowledgeable about plants and animals. We have learned so much again today. We can identify more birds, more plants, more fish , sea animals and plants.
Kris is so patient informing us of the life cycles of plant and animals and their interconnectedness with us and each other. We felt her deep concern for our earth and her interest in ecological matters. It’s a hands-on experience about the beauty in this world. We walked away enjoying and appreciating a day in nature.
We will be back again with more new friends, Kris. We are grateful for the fun and the education that you shared with us.

Kris, a marine biologist, knows her stuff! So much better than a tour guide with 20 kayaks who can point out a mangrove root. Our tour had 4 kayaks including hers. She is a passionate conservationist, but one who doesn't make you feel like a heel if you choose to eat meat. She asked us what we'd like to see after we went through the mangrove tunnels. Accordingly, she took us to where she often sighted dolphins or manatees. We saw both, up close, close enough to read the tracking numbers on the dolphin's fin. A manatee swam right up beside my kayak. The only thing that I didn't love about the tour was that it was often difficult to hear what she was saying. I suppose I could have paddled harder to stay very close to her kayak, but my main paddler (hubby) was more relaxed, and content just to watch. I wonder if there could be a Bluetooth headset/microphone set up that would help. She did find and pick up a sea urchin for us to look at, with attached shells; a starfish, and loads of crabs (which she didn't pick up, not even with her kayak paddle.) When we found dolphin and manatees, she hung out to watch them, lengthening our tour by perhaps 30 minutes. That's the extra mile!

I really enjoy the whole trip and appreciate what Kris brought me an amazing and memorable experience. She was very friendly, considerate and knowledgeable, you can feel her enthusiasm about her career. The whole trip was fun and interesting. We booked Mangrove tunnels kayak trip. She guided us throughout the trip and gave us a very detailed, vivid and comprehensive guide tour. She also showed us the little animals in the water. She was so considerate to ask us whether we were tired and our time schedule. I would strongly recommend Kris’s kayaking trip and  will book her other trips when I travel to Sarasota again!

Wow!!! If you are a nature lover, this tour is for you!!! Even if we hadn't seen a momma manatee with her baby or dolphins fishing, we got to see and learn about all kinds of sealife and birds including spoonbills, sea stars, sea urchins, upside down jellyfish. Plus paddling through the mangroves is magical. Kris is incredibly knowledgeable and knows where to find the wildlife to view without disturbing. She even successfully rescued a salt water logged juvenile dove while we were with her. My teens were even riveted which isn't that easy to do! I highly recommend this tour and our guide Kris.

Excellent experience. Came to Saratosa with my family for vacation and decided to book a kayak tour of the mangrove tunnels at the last minute. Searched online and found Biotica Ecotours. Left them a message to see if they had space available for the next day and they called me back right away. I was lucky that they had one available space for me and my son for the morning time slot. Arrived at 9am next day for the tour and our guide Kris was there to meet us along with 5 more guests. We did not have to wait too long until we were already inside the kayak navigating the tunnels. Kris is very knowledgeable and took time to explain and show us the different species that can be seen on the tour. Loved the manatees. In all it was a very exciting experience. I greatly recommend using Ecotours for this tour if you visit Sarasota. You will not be dissapointed. Will take this tour again next time I visit.

We chose Biotica Eco Tours because they only take small groups. Kris was an amazing guide, we looked into the water and saw urchins, sea stars, jellies, small fish while in the mangrove tunnels. Took our time to really look and experience it. In the open water portion, we found manatees near a private home's landing, and carefully avoided encroaching on them. We were rewarded with many looks as they came up to breathe. So fun, being on the water, learning and feeling good about their respect for the ecosystem.

You can't go wrong with Biotica Eco Tours if you want to see Florida plants, wildlife and birds and migratory birds in beautiful native Florida settings. Kris took us to several different areas in Myakka River State Park, each having it's own special habitat and variety of birds, some native to Florida, some migratory. Due to distance between each location we drove to them, making it fairly low impact. She identified the birds, told us about their history in Florida and/or their migratory life that brings them to Florida. We saw adult bald eagles and juvenile bald eagles learning to fish. We saw alligators sunbathing with multiple species of birds hanging out with them. It was so wonderful seeing the birds in nature instead of a zoo. She pointed out various Florida plants and trees and their importance to the planet and Florida ecosystems. It was an experience that I can't wait to repeat as the seasons change. So grab the family, your binoculars and your best camera for an experience you will remember forever.

Loved our time on this tour. Seven family members all joined Chris for an informative and fun time through the mangrove tunnels and the bay. It was so much better having Chris point out things along the way. We wouldn’t have even known what was all around us if it wasn’t for her guidance. I’d definitely recommend this tour for a great day filled with new memories!

Our tour with Biotica was top tier👌 My boyfriend and I were in town for a weekend looking for a fun and educational tour. This tour checked both of those boxes!

Kris is a great guide and shared soooo much insightful information about the wildlife! She was very knowledgeable/passionate about the ecology and biology of Sarasota. She was also very personable and had us “nerding out” about the beauty around us. We saw a wide variety of creatures, everything from scuttling crabs to a bottle nose dolphin with her calf. Highly recommend!
