Awesome experience! Laurel was great! She took 8 inexperienced, active, older adults, instructed us - making safety a priority - and gave us a fun and memorable experience. She made us feel comfortable and shared her passion and exceptional knowledge of the mangroves and the history of the area. I highly recommend Laurel ... we hope to go again, and will send our family and friends to her!

Just awesome! We went windsurfing and had the absolute best time with Laurel. She truly made the experience special. She was patient, kind, thorough, and extremely generous with her time and knowledge. We want to come back to the area to windsurf or kayak again just for Laurel!

My husband & I (ages 68 & 69) decided we needed to try kayaking. Mandy introduced us to this with an instruction on how to kayak. We then proceeded through the bay & then to the tunnels of the mangroves. Amazing experience & Mandy was very knowledgable with the ecology of the area. We learned so much & thoroughly enjoyed . Would definitely recommend the tour.

Even starting out with the booking, my family & I had a poor experience with Island Style. It went from bad to worse after we arrived. There were a handful of miscommunications, things that they said they would do and did not, payment quarrels. The whole nine yards. Laurel seems to be very overbearing, the trip was not relaxing in the least. My husband, 2 children and I had lots of questions that were quickly trumped and snubbed by guide Laurel. I would not recommend kayaking with this company.

OH NO! That's not good.
I'm Laurel Kaiser, the owner of Island Style Watersports.
Our policy is -- complete customer satisfaction or we make it right.
I wish I'd known much sooner, that the tour experience Ashley had was less than desirable. A full refund awaits this customer or the option to go out with another of our guides for another shot at enjoying themselves on the water.
It may take a bit of research to find the phone number or an e-mail address for Ashley, -- but she will get my sincere apology and the choice of a gift certificate or full refund to her credit card. I will do everything possible to make certain, if we have the opportunity, that she gets the relaxing experience she would enjoy... on her next visit to the Mangrove Forest.

Being curious about kayaking, my husband and I had an excellent first-time experience with Island Style Watersports. It started with meeting Laurel and Bjorn at Lido Park where Laurel gave us a great introductory instruction to the sport. Laurel and Bjorn then took us on the water and continued the instruction. Upon completion of the instruction, Laurel turned us over to Bjorn for a 2 hour plus tour of the immediate area to include the Mangrove tunnels. Bjorn proved to be an excellent instructor and tour guide. We would highly recommend this company to anybody looking for their first adventure and introduction to kayaking.

My friend, her son and I spent the most beautiful 2 hours at Lido Beach kayaking with a guided tour from Bjorn. He was friendly, fun, and so knowledgeable about sea life, it was like having a biology class...but of course so much more fun. He would reach down into the water and bring up shells, crab, sponge and inform us about each. It was a wonderful time and we can't wait to go back for another tour with Island Style Watersports! And Laurel's set up of the tour was first class, advising us on tides, weather conditions etc. Great company!!

This was the first kayaking experience for both my husband and myself. From the first phone call to Lauren being very accommodating and extremely friendly and informative to the amazing tour with Colin. He was fantastic with instructions and helpful advice to our first outing. THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU. You both are amazing and friendly people.

We rented two kayaks from Laurel and we could not have been more pleased. She was extremely helpful and made the whole process easy. We kept them for two days and spent 5 hours in the bay both days! We were able to see dolphins, sand dollars, shells and more! Highly recommend this business!!

Laurel was very accommodating from the beginning. She arranged a kayak tour that fit into our schedule. Took the 2.5 hour guided tour with Colin, who shared his impressive knowledge and heart for nature. After a quick 101 on kayaking, we saw dolphin, manatee, anhinga diving under us, little crags on the mangroves, raccoon, starfish and lots of birds. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We had an awesome Mangrove kayak tour that was completely customized for our family. Colin gave us a great tour and was very knowledgable about the ecology and history of the area. We had a blast, saw a lot of animals and learned a ton! Would recommend to anyone looking for a tour in the Sarasota area!
