As I approached the club house, my mind drifted back to the late 70's and early 80's. The L.P.G.A. had a tour event at "the Tree". Joanne Carner, Judy Rankin, and Jan Stevenson were on the range...and rookies like Barbra Mizrahie, Nancy Lopez and Eva Chang...we're getting the feel of the putting green. Media celebrities...and sport stars were all over... More

Great scenic holes at fantastic summer rates. Staff is super and golf facilities and restaurant serve good food at fair prices. Fairways are broad and greens fair for the average golfer. If it seems long....move up you shouldn't be on white tees. We will go again a fun course at a steal.

Very poor fairways. Some holes have more dirt than grass. Everything is under construction. If you have allergies the construction dust will really bother you. They have ruined a very nice course.

Two couples played on a weekday and teed off at noon. We are average to above average golfers. The whites were very challenging for this greybeard so I would play the Yellow Tees next time BUT I still enjoyed the round. The front nine is the "old" back nine with that extra challenging 9th hole. Lots of water and traps... More

We should have been told that the course was undergoing building work . They have ruined a lovely course , now they are jamming in a load of houses that make the course look like an inconvenience! Why not just build on the whole area and be done . May as well as the course is ruined now anyway .... More

Despite the construction around the course, we enjoyed our round. Greens are in good condition (compared with five other courses we have recently played) and layouts of holes are varied and fun to play, particularly the 9th hole. We were able to complete only 16 holes because of slow play and a delayed start; our tee-off was almost 25 minutes... More

Very traditional Florida layout. Greens are good and fairways also. Course is well maintained. They are constructing housing along the course, and have not updated the GPS for several holes on the back nine. Neither my Gamin nor my partner's GPS unit was accurate for four holes. Two have been shortened 50+ yards, one hole removed and another added. Maybe wait... More

Nancy Lopez would be as well. I checked in and asked if range balls are included in the greens fee? We have no driving range there are two nets to hit into , 1st negative. They used to have a range my guess it was eliminated for the new home construction that was going on constantly . We teed off... More

I thought that after its closure I would be playing an improved course. The course is not improved and many holes are presently part of a building site. The 18th is a par 5 cart path only with 80% ground under repair. There is a new par 3 all of 90 yards and a waste of time. This had the... More

Play the course where Nancy Lopez not only won her first event.....but years later won and went into the LPGA hall of fame. The course is having all the greens rebuilt...cart paths and bunkers tweaked, and modifications to several holes. This is one of the best courses you can play in Sarasota...and will not "break the bank".
