Took this tour today and it was well worth the time and reasonable cost. At one point during the trip, the crew goes forward on the boat and trawls for some sea life to show the guests (returned to the sea eventually). I was impressed that all the adults on board stayed seated of their own accord, and let the... More

We took the Sea Life Encounter boat ride and it was a very pleasant experience. Our kids (9&11) had a great time. There were all ages on our trip so accessible for just about anybody. The boat ride was a shaded, refreshing alternative to another day in the scorching sun at the beach. We saw dolphins on our way out... More

My wife found these people on the internet and we decided that one of their trips would be our Christmas present to each other, one of the best presents ever, We booked a four hour trip to view/find dolphins, manatee and bird life - we were not disappointed. Our guide and captain, Captain Sondra made the trip very special with... More

The team, Captain Steve, Chloe and Jen were all wonderful guides for our group which included two young kids. Good information, much fun getting out on the sandbar and collecting marine life, and good explanations of what we found. Highly recommended!

The boat tour leaves from the Mote Aquarium. I went with my 13-year-old and 8-year-old daughters. We took the 4 pm tour, which I would recommend because we had a chance to see all the sea creatures that were caught on earlier tours, and we saw the biologist put them back in the bay at the end of the tour.... I brought my 12 and 14 year old homeschooled daughters on this excursion. I can't say enough about the biologists that took us on the trip. They were interesting, personable, and knowledgable. The girls learned so much and their interests were peaked by the hands on learning. I would definitely take them again. I highly recommend this.

We chose a calm day to maximize the chance of seeing wildlife. It paid off! Several dolphins were spotted. The Captain stops the boat so we all could watch. Going out to the bird rockery was special. Since this is the time of year the birds hatch, we saw a great variety of chicks. The boat is able to get... More

It was pretty pricey. Fifty dollars for me and my six year old. He really enjoyed it as he loves being on boats. I didn't mind hearing about the celebrities and houses as we passed by but it was advertised as a wildlife trip. We did learn a lot and the guide was very knowledgable. We LOVED the spot where... We took the Sea Life Explorer cruise. It was windy and quite choppy, but the boat was very stable. The bird rookery was really interesting. On the way back, the biologists catch some sea life in a net and bring it on board for everyone to see. Everything is released back into the bay. Although, we didn't see any dolphins... More

We decided to do a trip with Sarasota Bay Explorers today. The reservation process was easy and the times of the tours were very frequent and convenient to our schedule. We chose the 12:30 tour and checked in at 12:00. The roll call was right on time and then we were told to head for the dock to load the... More
