Nice safe place to go on a bike ride with friends, family or your kids (as long as they're old enough to stay on their side and not block the path. You can ride from Sarasota to Venice. They're are benches and shaded covers, as well as porta pottys along the path.

We live in Sarasota and have biked this trial to and from Venice several times. Beautiful well maintained rails to trials bike route, there are also joggers, walkers etc so be careful and courteous.

This actually runs behind my vacation rental so I use it often with family members for biking, strolling and my morning run while on vacation. It runs from South Venice all the way north to Sarasota.

Living in Ft Myers, we've made the trek to Venice/Sarasota to ride the Legacy trail more than 20 times in 5 years. We ve joined the Legacy Friends (supporting the efforts of this trail) twice now...and love this awesome bike ride through canals, up to the seaside of Casperson Beach, and back. You should not miss this bike trip!

This trail is great, well maintained and mostly flat. There are several areas to park your car and unload your bikes near the trail. Pack water and snacks as needed. Covered rest stops at intervals.

We always enjoy the trail especially from Laurel Rd South. Great views along the intercoastal and many parks and areas along the trail to stop and watch the boats go by. A great way to visit Venice. If you want to just put your head down and ride take Laurel north. Enjoy

My husband and I should have brought our bikes. The trail itself is beautifully maintained and well-marked, so I can see why people love it, but it was just a boring walk for the few miles we did.

Bring the family, friends, or ride solo, you will not be disappointed. The trail offers rest stops, water, and recently installed bicycle stations for repairing/maintaining your bicycle. If you want to ride safely, this is the place. Very protective street crossings, wide, clean trail, well marked, and you can even go "off trail" for some exciting wilderness trail experiences where... More

This paved trail is used by both walkers and bicyclists and we found week days less crowded than weekends. It's easy to move at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. It's helpful that each tenth of a mile is painted on the pavement for you to track your distance. Shaded benches and water are provided at intervals for anyone... More
