We took our two boys (8&11) here for an afternoon break from the beach. The entire family had a great time and the boys learned a few things. Our 11 year fell in love with manatees and left wanting to be a marine biologist and our 8 year old can't stop talking about otters. We paired it with the Sea... More

We have been here 3 times in the last year, taking different family and friends, and there is always something new to see and learn about.

We bought the family pass and take the grandkids there when they come to visit. Hands on areas are a favorite for the kids. It is always clean and the volunteers are very helpful. Otter display is really neat.

This is a large aquarium that is actually housed in 2 separate buildings. It is also a working laboratory and sea turtle rescue. This is the largest aquarium I've visited and it has a lot of exhibits and information. There is plenty to keep both adults and children fascinated.

Mote is an outstanding facility that engages in both research as well as "show". The facility is in two separate buildings and well worth committing 2 to 3 hours. Great for both children and adults.

Any visit to Sarasota should include an hour or more at this fascinating place that offers touch pools, working marine labs and a variety of interactive exhibits. One can see manatees, sharks, sea turtles and especially playful otters. The place is a challenge, however, for disabled visitors who wish to see the otter exhibit, which is housed in a separate... Overall, I was impressed by Mote. Manatees, turtles, jellyfish, and all kinds of other sea life. There were a lot of volunteers all over the facility who were willing to answer questions, etc. The kids really thought the shallow pool where you could gently touch some of the rays was cool. Like most zoos or aquariums, I was torn between... More

My kids and I needed a break from the heat and the weather. We visited the aquarium and laboratory and enjoyed the beautiful aquariums and the laboratory. Very cool!
