The excitement is palpable during the Sarasota Opera season. As you arrive at your seats, you'll see the familiar faces of opera lovers just like you, and also meet new people. Our intimate 1119-seat theater—with the perfect acoustics for live opera—gives a sense of intimacy to our performances while enhancing your overall experience. Now in its 59th Season, Sarasota Opera is the only opera company in the world to have performed all of Verdi's works. People from all corners of the world come to see our world-class productions, which range from early Italian Bel Canto to contemporary American opera. This Winter, we are bringing to you Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, Bizet’s Carmen, Bellini’s Norma, and d’Albert’s Tiefland. All performances have simultaneous English translations above the stage and opera goers are encouraged to dress as they feel comfortable: suits and ties mix with khaki and jeans. Tickets start at only $19!! Come and experience the magic that is Sarasota Opera!

We are so sorry that you didn't have a good experience at the Sarasota Opera House. Though Sarasota Opera owns the Sarasota Opera House, we do not have control over renter events. That having been said, I will make sure to relay that information to...More

We tripped on the opera last year when visiting Sarasota and were so enchanted that we made a visit to the City this year for the purpose of attending their 4 operas in a week-end event. Not as good as the Met, but excellent for...More

The Sarasota Opera is housed in a magnificently renovated and restored venue in the center of the city. We have attended several performances here. This afternoon we thoroughly enjoyed "Carmen", a masterpiece by Georges Bizet, and journeyed through Seville. Gypsies, soldiers, smugglers, a bullfight -...More

This opera house is cozy and intimate with the performers. The Victorian motif lends a feeling of elegance for a reasonable price. Parking is difficult but the Valet service worked well. The waiting area is a bit stark.

Nice opera house worth a trip just to see it, great neighborhood, parking requires some thought and preparation, come early or public transport. Great neighborhood, nice restaurants in area, interesting bars, enjoy.
